my son has just been diagnosed and he is 5. i had my suspicions since he was a lot littler and i am actually glad now to know that he is not just a naughty difficult child. he has been recommended medication also and i am willing to try this because his adhd is really effecting his performance and school and i think he deserves any chance to help him to learn and do well. it is a huge thing to take in though. have been reading a lot of books and once in particular that was helpful was "Understanding ADD by Dr Christopher Green"

I'm scared that my four year old son may have ADHD .

My son was diagnosed with ADHD lastweek and I am so overwhelmed. Not sure if I should be happy that hopefully his behavior will improve or be sad that he may need medication to calm him down. I'm torn don't really know what to do or what to expect. We have his final follow up appointment on Wednesday Nov 4th. We'll see how that goes.

So we had our follow up appointment today. Dr. has prescribed 5 mg Aderrall to be taken once every morning for 2 weeks then 2 daily at breakfast an lunch after. I seriously hope this does not tke away from who my son is. I am very skeptical about the meds in the first place and I hope it actually does help. Anyone else on this med?
