My son is 3 1/2 and supposidly has ADHD but they have him on Risperdal .25mg in the morning and .25 in the evening. He also takes 2 other medications for ADHD. Isnt this too much?? Now my son is having spouts of nervousness and anxiety. Its almost like hallucinations about spiders, frogs and lizards. I am exhausted and he will only sleep with me in my bed with the light on! HELP HELP ! Can I just stop all meds?

What strength of Risperadal was your son on, How many MG? It is not a drug that should be stopped abruptly if he was taking it over a period of time. It is one that you should ween him off of, lowering the dose every week or so. Then if he took it for quite awhile it can take months for it all to leave his system.

This is a medicated society we live in. I have a 7 year old son that is perscribed a whole bunch of different medications because of his mother. I have no choice in the matter and I really wish I knew why he was being prescribed all these sorts of medications. Everyone is looking for a quick fix through medicating their children. It makes me sick to think that people are willing to subjegate their children to anti psychotic medications or medications for bipolar disorders. This can be emotionally distressing for children and you will realize why when they get older and severely rebel against their parents for the things they have done to them. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for what you are doing to your children. Slowly killing them and their immune system and not allowing them to have a fighting chance amongst societies terms when they are at the age where they should be able to move out and make their mark in this civilization. It sadens me to think that this society feels the need to medicate anyone that gives them grief. If someone isnt doing what a teacher wants them to do, give them some drugs so they will be medicated and will abide to their wants. Children are fragile and their brains and bodies are still developing. Do you think its smart to be giving them all these drugs??

I think that all of you people should be on drugs and stope dopeing children who wont have a chance when they grow up due to the fact that drugs altered their thinking. Who will run the world if all of our children have so many problems. What caused these children to have mental problems? Maybe it was their parents life styles that caused the problem in the first place! Stop blaming the children for behaviors and get to the root of the problem.

sounds like too many people are relying on quick cures from meds. and the people who either prescribe them (doctors) and those all ready franticly trying to fix their own child. You do know a doctor only has a liscence to "practice" medicine. Please be carefull to whom you take advice from.

My son has been on Risperdal for 5 years. While it seems to be beneficial -the long term effects are starting to be present. We think he has a condition called Tardive Dyskinesia- which can be a result of long term use of Risperdal. My friends son just recently diagnosed with diabetes and Tardive Dyskinesia as a result of the Risperdal per the neurologist. I'm weening my son off as we speak. A great website is webmd.com. It's a wonderful short term fix, but now I have the guilty mom syndrome because all of his unexplained issues are probably caused from this medicine. Any questions e-mail me! I 'm a teacher and now a book of knowledge on this medication.

I just found out that a friend of ours has her son on 6 different drugs for ADHD.
He has terrible dreams, feels things crawling on him and cries a lot.

I have done extensive research and have found a doctor who is sharing a powerful blend of polysaccharide peptides derived from a select mixture of rice grains. Contains potent alpha glycans, this super fuel is pumped directly into the cellular mitochondria the power plants of your cells.
This Rice has been in the US for a short period of time. Not many people are aware of the Rice that is harvested in the Siam Valley of Thailand.
My grandson who is AUTISTIC is consuming this powder in his food.

I would be very pleased to share this Functional Fund with anyone.

Our time has arrived.

-No Matter What Happens-
I remember a time when each day was long,
When the world was a playground and my life a song,
And I fluttered through the years with barely a care,
Ignoring the future and what waited there.

School was intriguing and filled with delights,
I played away daytimes and dreamed away nights,
My parents assured me I had nothing to fear,
And that no matter what happened, they'd always be there.

Little I knew of a world outside home,
Where tragedy and sorrow would roam,
All I saw were blue skies, rainbows and stars,
I looked past destruction of buildings and cars.

As a child, my biggest concern was just me,
I had to be happy, I had to be free,
I now see the sickness I looked past before,
Family and friends start to die and my heart hits the floor.

Deadly diseases claim people I love,
There are landfills below me,
Pollution above including the sky,
I often think back to when life was a game,
But no matter what happens, it can't be the same.

But I hold my head high and I push my way through.
I have too much to give and so much to do.

And I make a vow that, though it'll be hard,
I'll go with a smile and play every card,
I'll give all I can, help others and love,
No matter what happens, life will bloom again,
And the strength I don't have will come from up above.

So come, take my hand, and through darkness we will sail,
If we all join together, we can never fail,
We'll remember to care for one another, remember to feel,
And no matter what happens, our World we will heal.

Friends, you and me...................
You brought another friend...............
