| i have a daughter and she says she is being bullied i have been into her school and i talked to some people like friends, people who she has had some problems with, teachers and the headmaster, it seems like she is perfectly happy so i dont no if she is atchally being bullied or she is just saying that to get away from school for a few days, what should i do?! ↑ |

| We tried soccer for my 6yo adhd daughter and had similar issues. A teacher recommended martial arts, as she felt she needed to learn to control herself before she could learn to work in a team. i was really worried about it at first as i was concerned it would encourage aggression but we pulled her out of soccer (it was only causing stress for the whole family) and gave it a try. Best thing we ever did!!!! Her self esteem has sky rocketed as she is actually doing well at something and whilst she still gets the social contact of being in a group activity she is ultimately responsible for herself and is learning so much. Listening skills, self control, self discipline, learning to concentrate on something whilst other people are doing things around her, its just wonderful!! We realised that we had put her into soccer because we wanted her to learn team skills, playing with others etc.. but what we really did was put her in a situation where her weaknesses were obvious and setting her up to fail. self esteem is such an issue for adhd children and we have found that finding her a sport that she was good at has helped her enormously. I would seriously recommend it for all parents with adhd children! ↑ |
