Hi ive got a 5 year old son. He has had bad behaviour from around 3 years old which at first i thought was normal although in the the last 8 months its got worse. He has now started to lash out kicking, punching, biting, scratching, slapping and pulling my hair out. I work with 4 year old children children and dont see this sort of behaviour. I know every child is different and they push the boundaries with parents but his behaviour is bad at school he hits and pushes children at school which is effecting his learning he finds it hard to concentrate and sit still at school. He is very bright but he isnt listening at school and i feel unless i get help he is going to suffer at school. Any advice?

Hi Gemma. My 7yr old daughter has just been diagnosed with ADHD and today has been prescribed some medication to try to help. It was a struggle to get her diagnosed but I would suggest that you do as i did, you need to firstly speak to your school SENCO (special educational needs co-ordinator). All schools have an appointed teacher as one and they should be able to advise you about what the school can do, also see your GP and get referred to the hospital. It's usually a specialist pschycilogist that's sees you and they will conduct what's called a "Connors report" ( it's a questionnaire that yourself and the school take) and they'll take it from there. Hope this helps x
