I responded to an ad that was on a local website. I was looking for a used swing set and came across an ad that was titled "Child for adoption." It went on about how she needs a home for her 3-year-old boy. I responded to her ad because it upset me to there was a child out there whose mother was taking out a classified ad. On the return address of the email response was the name Joyce Mafor. As anyone heard of this person, should I be cautious of a scam?

To Helpful Adoptive Mom's,

For the interests of all parties involved once you verified the person you are dealing with is not a scam you should have the person contact your attorney. The person you are working with should also have their own attorney. In the end it maybe that you have to pay for their attorney but never send a money directly to a birthmother. Only scammers would want money, if a person cares about their child they would not ask for money.

I have seen her name on the scamming websites. Check yahoo adoption forums..they have a scammers site and adoptionscams.net and adoptionscam.com... hope this helps.
