Im 17 years old, 8 months left of my college A levels. Currently single. Im sure this doesnt sound serious atall and most people will just tell me to grow up, but i have always dreamt of the day i find out im pregnant. and in the last 6-7 months i have been wanting to have a baby more than ever!! Its a feeling i now think about all day everyday, i do wish it would go away but i also wish i could make it happen!! Two of my friends of a similar age have just had their first kid and i couldnt be more jealous, i spend as much time as possible with their child as i just love every second. Please dont judge me i just want help and advice...
thanks! ↓

| please love the baby that your friends have for right now. to be completely honest it probably wont go away. you can thank the human body for that. its only been in rrecent history that women have waited until their 20s and later to have kids so some peopl still have the urge early. if you finish school and have a good job first your baby will reap the rewards and you will have an easier life even if you do decide to do it single (im not telling you to do that because it will be harder if you do) ↑ |
| thankyou...yeah i just dont know what to do!! I just envy people with kids and i am dying for one of my own ↑ |
Hey Clarey!
i was exactly the same when i was 17( im now 25,married, with 2 kids). i went through a long period where all i could think of was babies.fortunately i got sidetracked with going out n having fun once i turned 18 and never got round to starting a family till i was 22. im not going to patronise you with the old"your too young" line but i will say that as much fun as it is being a mama im truly glad i did manage to squeeze in a few years of just being me and doing what i wanted as these days its a struggle to get ANY time to myself..Also i feel its very important for you to have lots of support when you have a child and being in a secure loving relationship can help you face the day to day hurdles you face when becoming a parent. keep on with your studies so that if and when you do become a mother you can provide a financially stable upbringing for your little one..They cost ALOT! haha xx Sass xx ↑ |
| i was 17 n had my son, i really wanted a child before and even now i wudntg change a thing about him, i thought because everybody else child always came out health my baby would 2, how wrong was i, i had him 3month early and he is now 9mnth old n has neva been out of hospital.i am not trying to say wait but wot nobody else will tell u is that how shattering it is, im now pregnant again at 18, ppl say its 2 soon when the new baby arrives it goin 2 be not only tiering but ul be up everynight, a babys 4 life always remember that if your pregnant plz go about lookin afta urself, but good luck xxx ↑ |
| i hope that you will take this advice and run with your life and enjoy all the things it has to offer to a single person and then enjoy what it has to offer a family! ↑ |
| girl , I wanted the same thing for as long as I can remember. And Now I have this 2 year old girl that is so much fun and I love her so much, but omg what was I thinking? I can't go anywhere, do anything with out her. Hell I can't even poop with out her in there. Pluse She has autisium, do you know how hard it is to raise a normal child, not to mention a child with a mental problem. it's hard and for you to think that you can do it and still have a life. Get over your self. Grow up, not by having a baby. quite being so selfish. Waite till you can have some help from some one that can afford it. BABY;s are expensive. BUt whay am I wasting my time, your going to do what ever you want. You just put this form up here so you could get attention, have a baby then your baby will give you all that attention that you want. Trust me, been there done that. clshadrick@yahoo.com ↑ |
| thanku all for ur comments, im feelinf bit better about things. but still feeling strongly about it all. but i am really taking in everything u all say !!! x ↑ |
hello
i know exactly how you feel...im 17 and feel the same way...as of last week i found out i am pregnant. my boyfriend who is 19 couldnt be more happy. i think when people judge like that its really stupid...i wouldnt advise anyone under the age of 17 to want to or actually have a baby. but i just want you to know i totaly know what you are thinking... ↑ |
| renae thanks so much, and congratulations on your soon to be bubba!! Your very lucky.....i hope it all goes great for you!! x ↑ |
I was the same from when I was 13 I was obsessed with having a bub so really it was no surprise when i fell pregnant at 16. It was not the right time but I made the most of it and now I'm 22 and happily married with 4 children and we are trying for a 5th now. For me in the long run it worked out great havinga bub young, I dont reccommend it as it is a lot of hard work but if it happens, its a good tihng.. not a bad thing :D
Enjoy your life though, be young, be free of responsibilities and just have fun! Being a mummy you still get to enjoy your life but you can't go out with friends, go clubbing, drink, even just go to the beach without packing an army truck of things to take with you and having to worry about the kids without actually having a good time your self! etc
so enjoy your time wile you can and soon enough you'll be older and more ready to start a family and you'll still enjoy it just as much just you will have more life experience to share with your bubba, which is something I guess I dont have for my kids! ↑ |
| thats very true...thankyou. i never thought about sharing my childhood experiences, i think its because my mum and dad are older than most parents of my friends. i.e my dad is 60 and im only 17 and i want my parents to see atleast 10 years of my kiddys lives!!! ↑ |
| Don't get me wrong, I love my baby to death, but I would wait, wait, wait, if I were you. It is alot more responsiblity than it looks like. You aren't your friends baby's momma's so you don't really know what they go through. Enjoy your youth, date around, finish college, find a great man who wants to be a devoted husband and father, then think about having a baby. Just make sure your then husband knows you want to get pregnant on your wedding night! ↑ |
