Name: soniafromcanada Title: we used a sperm donor

My hetero parter and i had to use a donor because of of fertility issues. What was a drag was that, since donors are scarce in canada, we had only a few to choose from that came anywhere near sharing physical or other traits with my partner. We had no idea what the donor looked like other than the most basic build and coloring traits. The baby looks a lot like me and by luke slightly resembles my partner, enough that no one would think it's obviously not his baby. When he was born, he felt like a stranger to me and it took me about 3 months to bond with him. Also, we have no info on his family medical history. I wish the system here was more like it is in the states where you get a lot more info on the donor. Has anyone esle had this experience?  ?
