Hello, i am the mother of a 4 year old who was diagnosed with autism 1year ago. he goes to a special school 3 hrs a day 4 days a week. and ive tried everything that ive read and done, but if there is something u know that helps autistic children..i want to know coming from a real parent instead of a book. i want him to be the best he can and i need your help. thank u ↑
Hi Anna. You should really google the crystal child. Not to sound too metaphysical, but the #1 characteristic of these children is delayed speech being labeled as autistic!! I also have a 2 1/2 year old who doesnt talk. Just check it out, dont you think its wierd that autism has gone up like 300% in the past 5 years. Something is going on. Does your son connect with you emotionally? Look in your eyes, smile at you? Autistic children wouldnt do this. Please google this, it may relieve some of your fears of autism. Marie ↑

HI my name is Tina and I am the mother of an 11 year old diagnosed with Asperger's, also I have a 14 year who is quite possibly ADD. I feel so alone and this is funny because I am known in my area for starting a local support group and am very active in advocacy and such. My son has had a miserable school year and is now in an alternate placement but he is with kids who are very hard core in their behaviors. I have just decided to remove him but now I don't know what we will do for his education. He is very high functioning academically but needs a moderate level of help socially and emotionally. Anyone out there who wants to chat you can e-mail me at ma2bellboyz@yahoo.com. Best Wishes. ↑

Some Reviews: "Earlier this year, I had the honor of reading Chantal Sicile-Kira's book Autism Spectrum Disorders. With Adolescents on the Autism Spectrum, she has once again written a book that should be read by every child on the autism spectrum. Chantal provides useful, practical, and insightful guidance on topics ranging from transition to sexuality. These are tough topics and she handles them with tremendous wisdom, frankness and grace. Any parent who opens this book will find a wealth of incredibly helpful information."
- Dr. Cathy Pratt, Director, Indiana Resource Center for Autism Chair,
National Autism Society of America (ASA)
"Parents raising a teenager on the spectrum will find this clearly written and carefully documented guidebook to be full of important information and practical advice. Helping adolescents transition from the pre-teen years through puberty and on to young adulthood is a difficult task. This book will provide invaluable help and guidance to both parents and professionals. It is highly recommended."
