Hi my son is 5 yearas old. He was recently diagnosed with high functioning autism. He is a sweet and affectionate little boy who struggles to make friends and to make sense of the world around him. I am also a teacher by trade so I know how hard it can be to get the right help at school for these kids. I have another child who is 3 years old. She doesn't have an ASD. We live in Australia. I would love to hear from parents of children with High Functioning Autism of any age. I am really interested in hearing about whatthe future might hold for my son. ↑
I have a 4 year old son who is autistic. He has made such an incredible leap in the last year from watching the Signing Time videos. We own all 13 of them. He can now communicate with us with more than 150 signs. ↑
I feel for all of you because my 17 year old son has a mild form if at all. He is active in sports and even in drama, but he is withdrawn a great amount of time and I do not think he deals with many social cues at all. Most people think he is rude because he is not polite and rarely says HI to anyone. He has a small comfort zone with peers. I am lucky in that his teachers like him and he has a social life thru athletics and drama it is a mystery. ↑
This goes out to "JOHN" who left a message on the board on 3/17/06 I too have a 10 year old autistic boy. Feel free to email me if you'd like to exchange thought's. CrueFan2@aol.com ↑

My son has recently been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome adn Hyperlexia. I would love to chat about this with other parents that know what I am going thru ↑
Sorry I forgot to leave my e-mail address... Dani0342@hotmail.com
My son, Andrew, is yrs old and was just diagnosed in January with Asperger's and Hyperlexia. He is very High functioning and wants to have many friends but just doesn't know how to go about doing it. He also has sensory adn tactile issues, and has just this year, finally quit soiling his pants. He has sleeping issues and eating issues. He talks in circles a lot. However, he is VERY bright! He scored genius levels in reading and math on a psychological IQ test. He is in Kindergarten this year and is reading on a 5th grade level and doing math on a 3rd grade level. I would love to chat with other parents about this and other issues and daily life of raising and loving a child with this. Please e-mail me.
I get pretty upset with myself a lot because I didn't recognize the signs earlier. They were there from almost after birth. I was just so thrilled to finally have a baby to hold in my arms and watch grow after losing 2 babies before him that I just marveled in everything he did do and didn't pay attention to what he did not do.
Someone plewase e-mail me to chat. Thanks and God bless! ↑ |
i would love to chat with other parents too of autistic children ↑
Anyone have a child with pddnos? ↑
A great place to go to chat with others is msn's autism chat and share! The website is http://groups.msn.com/AUTISMCHATANDSHARE and it is where parents and grandparents post and reply and have a chat room so we can support and talk to each other and come together and know that we are not being judge in anyway!! It is a great site and I hope you visit it soon!! ↑
