You must get your little one his/her very own little birthday cake that they can just "destroy"lol!! It's so cute and funny to watch them "dig in" with their little hands!! Make sure your camera is ready!!!!

You could rent an inflatable jump for the older children who are attending the party. You could also have a pinyata, sidewalk chalk, face painting, hula hoops and jumproaps to keep the kids busy in the drive way.

Definately heaps of balloons hanging around the place, all the kids love them..For my daughters 2nd we blew up heaps of ballons and put them in her room while she was sleeping so she knew something was going on... you should have seen her face light up...

hi for my sons birthday, were doing a ducky themed soft play party he love that sort of stuff. an idea... blow up a nice picture of ure child on there birthday and get all the guests to write a special message starting with... your special because....... that way you have a really special keepsake to rember a first birthday with. also wanted to ask are first birthdays more adults or loads of babys, im a stay at home mom and my son hasnt got that may baby freinds as hes not in daycare or nursery yet! jo

I don't know if this is of any use to you but we recently used http://www.OurWishingWell.com to receive cash so we could buy our child exactly what they wanted. Obviously our child is a bit older but i could see it working for you if you put some thought in...
