Ok my daughter is 17 months old and VERY VERY insistant on what she wants! She will lift up my shirt and scream boob! Even when we are out! I really thinks NOW IS THE TIME! She is getting to old to still be breast feeding now and I need some help to get her off! LOL! Please any tips would be greatly appreciated!  ?

I personally would not try this, but if nothing else works, I've read about woman that put lemon juice on there nipples and tell the child that the milk has gone sour. It worked for them. I think it's kind of mean, but if I was desperate to wean I guess I might try it. My daughter is 15 months and she too is very insistent on nursing when she wants it. However, I don't want to give it up yet. In a couple months time I will be though. I need to wean her before our next baby is born.  =

This advice is of course after you've tried the usual distracting from nursing, avoid special chairs or pillows associated with nursing, dropping one feeding at a time every few days or once a week, substituting with a snack and fun activity, keeping busy and away from home when child would usually nurse, etc.  =

Hello, my son will be 2 in the end of March and he still nurses. I said i would nurse him until 2 that way I know he would get at least 2 years of the best possible nutrient he could ever have. I Know weaning him will be difficult for both of us. I guess my advice would be decide when you want to stop and then just stop. She will probably get upset, but if you are consistent and patient hopefully it won't be to hard. Good luck  =
