Im 41 weeks pregnant and they are telling me Im having a 10 pound baby girl. They think the best bet is a c section so it doesnt put me or the baby at risk. Im scheduled for an induction on Thursday March 30th. Do you think going vaginal is what I should do or should I just go for the c section. Im just so scared about the c section I think Im gonna pass out or throw up. I just dont know what to do. Any advice would be great!

I just had a c-section on the 13th. It was something I didnt want, I was scared about having one. I was induced on the 12th because I was a week overdue. I had an epidural, again, something I didnt want, but with an injection of nubain through iv, and my husbands support, I endured the epidural and had the c-section with no other drugs. I have a beautiful baby boy. A week after the c-section, my staples came out and I am continuing to heal. All in all, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. My Dr. knew how I felt about the eppy and c-section before hand, but she also knew that I wanted a healthy baby. If having your baby come out healthy and ok means a c-section, then don't be scared. Talk to your Dr about all options. A 10 lb baby is big and vaginal might put you and baby at risk. Go in with an open mind. I did and it helped. I also had my husband and sister, both of which were excellent support people. I hope you have some good supporters going with you. If you have contractions, remember one thing, BREATHE. Your breathing exercises do come in handy and are wonderful.

I'm so scared about having a c-section as well, I was a c-section with my mom so i'm not sure if that increases my odds or not. I watched a couple of them on tv and they scared the crap out of me. They drap that thing over so you can't see what they are doing to your own body! The baby seems like it comes into the world so violently. I guess you can't feel anything about whats going on but it sure seems scary to me
