Has anyone ever heard of peeing in a cup and pouring bleach into it to find out the sex of the baby? The colors are supposed to be brown for a boy and green for a girl?  ?

It is drano and if it foams up fast you are supposed to be PG if nothing happens you are not. My girlfriends and I tried this years ago and it worked one of the girls found out she was pregnant this way!  =

Thanks for the comments ladies. I tried it and the color turned green. (which means girl) I got on the 6th to find out the sex of the baby for sure. I'll update what the results were.

i went to mimi maternity to buy a coat yesterday and while my fiance was paying, i saw this book that caught my attention. it was 50 ways to tell if its a boy or girl. of course the two questions i answered said we were having a girl, but i already know we're having a boy. but that was only 2 out of 50. i think it would be fun to guess while you havent found out yet. the book isnt fancy, its just a fun book i guess. well, good luck to everyone  =

yes, you are supposed to take a ring, a good one is a simple wedding band so that all sides are even, no big diamonds, etc. tie it to a string and hold it a few inches above your belly as you lay down on your back. if it goes side to side, its supposed to be a boy. if it goes in a circle, its a girl. just hold the string very still and it will start moving by itself.  =

the idea behind that is supposedly that the acidity of ur fluids are different for each so its acidic for a boy and alkaline for girl hence the colors_ bleach might be a bit of a hard one cos it will take colour out but another household fluid may do the trick_ but it is supposed to be an old wives tale- happy peeing!  =

I'm hoping for a girl, but not sure how to tell, my gf goes to find out on the 17th to find out how far along she is, but other then that I'm really excited to be a father, my gf already has two kids, this will be my first, and I can't stand not being around her kids, if I have to go out of town for work I miss them more then one could imagine. Never did the bleach or drano thing but with my son it swung up and down I don't know what I am haveing for sure but this time my ring swung it went in circles so fast! Just was way different than it did w/ my son!

I wouldnt suggest using bleach or drano mixed with urine. The fumes could be very bad for you and your baby. Besides your urine contains ammonia and when ammonia is mixed with bleach it creates mustard gas, I dont think it is worth the risk to find out the gender that way, just try and be patient and wait for the ultrasound, its much safer.  =

I did the ring test for this one and ti swings side to side. not in a circle like my girls. so maybe I will finally get my Boy and yes I so want my kid healthy. I wil find out for sure what it is on the 16 of May. My DR makes you wait untill you are 6 1/2 months along befor the u/s  =

lux bug well there are no real accurate ways but the u/s or the amino but there are so many fun things to do to guess. all of the old wives tales that I have done say I am having a boy well the u/s says girl and the chinese gender prediction also says girls. they say if you are carrying low its a boy and high a girl well i am carrying low and i crave salt not sweets and yadda yadda yadda. all the things point to boy but all the u/s point to girl so have fun you can go to google and put in old wives tales on gender prediction there are like 40 or so, so have fun  =

Hey ladies; Was fun to read all the advice everyone had. I think I will try the bleach thing. My husband and I have three girls thus far. Would love to finally get our boy. And don't worry for those of you that think we are dumb........ I won't be sniffing the fumes.

The only differences I have noticed durring this pregnancy is that my LADY BUMPS are growing very fast........ a sign of having a GIRL, and the hair on my legs and under my arms is out of control....... a sign of having a BOY. So what ever it is I hope it is very healthy and Even if its not a Boy I am done. So good luck to everyone and just hope for a healthy one......... God Bless You All !!!!!!!!  =

not to be a worry-wart or anything, but pee has amonia in it, and i would really really suggest nobody pour it into bleach (or Drano - which is what i originally heard this test being done with) i'm not saying you'll explode or anything, but the fumes from either are toxic, especially if you're pregnant.  =

Hey guys - new here but here is what I heard about the Bleach Test. Some friends swear about the accuracy of this, though I have no idea the scientific validity. (I'm all about science - hehe)
Take equal parts mom's urine and bleach - combine in glass (outside is best because it makes toxic fumes) and if you get a ginger ale effect - some bubbles - it's a girl, if you get the beer effect - huge head of foam - it's a boy. I'm 6 1/2 weeks today and I tested a boy - going to try again around 10 weeks, as 10 to 12 weeks is supposed to be when it's most accurate. Also going to do some control tests, have my 8 year old daughter do it (should be ginger ale because she is not pregnant - shows girl) and have my hubby do it (should show beer, because he's a man! lol) Would be curious how many of you try this test and if it proves accurate.  =

I have heard some science propose that if the during the time around conception mom is eating a lot of salt foods then you get girls and if she eats high in potassium foods then she would get boys, this would connect the theory of the bleach/drano changing the color of the urine by their mixing reaction (if mom is still eating the same foods she ate at conception). A recent study said that if you are under a lot of stress at the beginning of a pregnancy it prevents the embryo from becoming a boy and you're more likely to have a girl.

All embryo's are female for something like 6 weeks anywho.

usually its when u hear the heartbeat and if it sounds really fast that ususually determines that its a girl but if its midly slower than usually a boy.
you can do those online sex predictors.. yeah there not always right but ive done 5, a few before i found out the sex and a few after and they al came out right.. a girl.  =

I tried that stupid drano test and it does not work. The string is hard to say because it picks up on your heart beat, while holding the string. I can usually tell when a women is around 6 or 7 months what they are going to have. Girls carry higher than boys. But, I can't really tell this early on.  =

um... yea. you really can't tell whether or not your having a boy or a girl by the way your carrying.. Low or high. When I was pregnant with my first i carried low and was pregnant with a boy but then i've had friends who have also carried low and ended up with girls.. I think the only wivestale that really works is the chinese gender predictor. It was right with my son:)  =

When I was pregnant with my son I carried really high and if you saw me from behind you would have never known I was pregnant. However now Im having a girl and I carry her very low. (example: she's been on my pelvic bone and hips since around 18 wks.) But you can definetly tell from behind that Im prego cause of my hips and ass. ; ( That was how my two played out. When i was pregnant with my daughter (1st pregnancy), a friend did a test using a needle and cotton. She thread the cotton thru the needle, let it hang in my palm. she raised it slightly. the needle point is said to either go sideways (boy) or in a circle (girl). We didnt know what we were expecting at the time. She was sure its a girl. And it was! She also said that if you do it a few times, after each other, you can tell how many children your having. Mine was 3. a girl, a boy, a girl.
Well, im 8 weeks pregnant and hoping its really a boy! My daughter is 6 and Iv waited with bated breath to have the second one.

My u/s is on 26 May 2008. Lets cross fingers! ofcourse it is important that da baba is healthy but one can dream!  =
