It's been so quiet in here! How is everyone?

Joey had his 15-month assessment today. He was supposed to get his MMR Vaccination but hes just recovering from the flu (we all are. :( ) so the doctor didn't want to give him a live vaccine till he's healthy again. So he goes back in 2 weeks to get his vaccination.

BUT he did get a clean bill of health otherwise, developmentally he's right on target, running around, can say a few words etc. He is now 79.5cm long and 24.2lb which is exactly 50th centile on both height and weight which I'm really pleased with!

How is everyone else's babies/toddlers/kids?

Good to hear everything is going well!!

Are these appointments that everyone's babies go to just their immunizations? My doctor has only seen Brooke 2 times and she is 6 months old - once at 6 weeks then again at 12 weeks and said he would like to see her again at 1 year!! Unless I have questions or concerns otherwise. At her immuniziations they just weigh and measure her and it's just done by nurses

In Ireland, all babies get weighed and measured and checked over when they get their vaccinations at 2 mts, 3 mts, 4 mts, 12 mts, 15 mts and 4 years.

Not really. 24lb is the average weight (50th centile) for a 15-month-old boy. How'd she get on with her check? Over here, they don't get checked at all between 15-months and 4 years when they're due their next vaccination. They don't really bother to check them over here unless they're due a vaccination.

Hmm, My daughter goes in to get her shots at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 18 months (not sure when after that) but at those appointments a nurse just weighs and measures her and lets me ask questions then we're done. I was shocked though when I took her to our doctor at 12 weeks and he said bring her back when she is 1!! Crazy!
