i remember seeing this a while ago.
to me....i think this is just a classic case of a mom who doesn't want to "let go" and let her youngest child grow up. she needs to have another baby b/c she is just sick! i even think nursing over 2 years is crazy! personally, i only plan to do it for chloe's first year or shortly after she turns one (depending on how the weaning goes). ↑ |

Breastfeeding is recommended for as long as mutually desired. There is nothing wrong with her breastfeeding her child (who actually weaned at 7 not 8). The world average age for a child to self wean is 4.
That being said I do not like the video. I have seen her speak about breastfeeding outside of the video and some of her statements are a bit hard to swallow. One thing many don't realize is that this woman is the minority of the minority and others judge all extended breastfeeding mamas just on this video. Could you imagine if we pigeon holed every type of person due to the views of the minority of the minority? The video hinders the view of breastfeeding mothers and that is my #1 reason for disliking that video. ↑ |
