| My last period was at the end of April 2006. It is now July 5. My period are usually pretty regular. They at most 2 weeks late, but I felt like they had finally regulated. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and they were both negative. I don't know. I have all the classic symptoms that I've read about, but most of them could also be because of my period. I really don't know what to think. I just don't know if I need to maybe go get a blood test or wait a little longer. Everything that I have read so far says that pregnancy tests are very accurate. The at home ones. If anyone has any advice, it would be great! I'm tired of worrying and I thought that taking an at home test would ease my mind. I just still have this gut feeling thats making me feel like the tests I took were wrong. ↑ |

| Yeah I have had a negative pregnancy test. That is happeing right now!!!!!! I haven't had my period since april 22. I went to see the doctor and they tested me to and it came out negative!!! They went on a head and did some ultrasounds on me but I dont know what the results are!!!! Im still waiting!!! I feel as I am pregnant I've been haveing symptoms and I've gained alot of weight even with my diet!!! Is there a chance I can be pregnant??? ↑ |

| Pequena- That is exactly what is going on w/ me but I haven't been to the doctor. My boyfriend of 3 years keeps telling me that i need to just in case something else is wrong. I don't know. April 22 is about the same time that I had my last period. Its driving me crazy! ↑ |

| Okay heres what happend I went to another doctor for a second opinion. And well it turns out I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). This is something that you need to take care of!!!! It can cause infertility, heart diesease, diabetes! So if you keep missing your period and continue getting negative results on your pregnancy test. Go to your doctor and get checked out!!! Theres treatment but no cure. And for those of you that are trying to get pregnant you can get pregnant even with PCOS if you get the treatments and all. I'll keep you updated. Im taking medicine and Im on a strict diet! But its worth it and my husband and I want to continue on trying to have our own baby. ↑ |

hey everyone!
i have a QUestion and it's driving me crazy not too know the answer. I had a missed period and i am on the pill... so 2 days after my missed period i took a test and it come out negative. The next moring i did it again and it come out positve... Now just too make sure i did a test again and now its negative and i have my period what is going on am i pregnant or not?
can anyone help me

| To Angelgirl: if the positive test was first thing/early morning and then you had another one later that day or even an hour after, there may not be enough hcg in the second sample to give an accurate reading. Early morning/first thing in the morning urine has the most concentrated amount of hcg and if the test detected some, you are most likely pregnant. If you are going to test later in the day, hold your urine for 4 - 5 hours before you test again. ↑ |

| angelgirl, IMO if you had a positive, then a negative and you are now bleeding you probably experienced a blighted ovum or early miscarriage or the first test could have been a false positive (which is very rare) or it was taken or read incorrectly. You have to read the test immediatly, if it sits for say an hour or so you could see an evaporation line, which may lead you to think you are pregnant, you should consult your doctor ↑ |

I was actually thinking the same thing as firewife in regards to an early miscarriage, which could explain the positive. A false positve can happen but again as firewife says it's very rare. First let me say my period has never been late a day in my life. today I write being 8-9 days late. I have taken 4 tests all were negative. I have heard of people having neg. results like me. I dont relly have symptoms, but I want to be optomistic because I have been trying for a while (with my boyfriend for over a year now, and never used protection). I dont have health insurance, so I cannot get a blood test. Does someone know anywhere I can go to get a blood test free? I just want someone to talk to that has been in my shoes to reassure me. I want a baby so bad, and this is the first time that I have been late so I want to believe I am pregnant. Please respond!! ↑ |

I took a hpt when I was 2 weeks late, it can back postive. But when I went to my doc,I took a blood test and she said that the results were postive enough so I took another blood test and it increase again, but still she wanted to do it again.
So I took another hpt and it can back postive again. So I know I am pregnant but my doc want the blood test to be allot higher.
1st-Blood test 75
2nd-Blood Test 295
3rd- I will let you know Monday.
I thnk hpt test are very acurate, I heard blood test take longer to tell. ↑ |

| hey lizshouse88 ! i have a similar situation. me and my boyfriend been trying for 5 months and like u , i never missed a period ... im always exact to the day ! So im now about 3 days late and this has never happened to me before! so just like u i am assuming i am pregnant. Although i took 2 pregnancy test and the turned out negative! I know u sed u dont have insurance and neither do i, but if u go to a womans health clinc like planned parenthood they can treat u with no insurance. i actually think they give free pregnancy test (but im not positive) ... all u have to do is walk in .. no oppointment nessacary tell them your situation and they will put u on a sliding scale. Which means depending on how much u make or wat u can afford they will work out a payment plan .. i think for a blood test the most it will be is 100 $. if you have any other questions you can email me at Shakee_it_off@yahoo.com... because its always nice to know someone else is going through something with you. good luck ↑ |

| If you have a planned parenthood in your area I would recommend going there. I don't think the blood test is free but I do know as far as price wise that they aren't that expensive. You could always call as well before going. If you need a payment plan they will sit that up for you as well. ↑ |

| OK so here's the deal I had a baby 3/28/06 had a normal period 5/16 but since then nothing, doctor did an ultrasound 6/22 and saw a "fluid-filled sac" but no fetal pole or yolk sac and my blood tests cam eback negative. I feel like i'm going crazy , I feel pregnant, i should know I just had a baby! My doctor is saying that is all in my head and that he doesn't want to do another ultrasound because the test was neg! Sorry i just needed to vent about this. ANy body else had this happen? ↑ |

I've never had this happen to me but I did go online since I love the internet and came across this exact same thing that you are dealing with. Apparently there have been several women who this happened (my sister included). They rescheduled another ultrasound for a later date, which showed both the fetal pole as well as the yoke sake. So it may be to early to detect or the fetus never actually developed. ↑ |

| Hello all, It is so nice to read that there are a lot of women going through similar situations as myself. I am about a week and a half late for my period and have taken three hpt's that have all come out negative. I did spot slightly during the time that my period was supposed to be but not anything like what it usually is. I had a wierd feeling that I was pregnant and was almost sure that I was because I was feeling tired, boobs look and feel fuller, clear discharge and some crampiness in the pelvic area. I have a three year old son and me and my husband were going to start "trying" in January. Although, we are not "preventing" now, if it happens than great. I went to the Doctor's today and they did a urine test that came back negative also. I was so disappointed. They did send me out for bloodwork and I should get those results back tomorrow. The lady who did my bloodwork said that she was a month and a half pregnant and all her hpt came back negative as well. She didnt find out until they did the blood test. So keeping my fingers crossed!!! ↑ |

| Hi, I'm Shanna and I started this post.. As an update, I was NOT pregnant and simply had various hormal changes due to irregularity in taking my pills. After this emotioal rollercoaster (after a few months), we decided to start trying. Today, I again think I may be pregnant. I was feeling funny yesterday (only a few days after my period) but figured I was ovulating. I took a fertility test that came out positive. Then, just for reason unknown, I took a pregnancy test. THAT came out positive. However, there turned to be blood (pink) on the tissue. I am also having cramps. So .... if there isnt ONE gynecological issue, there is another. I will be going to ER this evening and hope to get a blood test and/or ultrasound to confirm this pregnancy and find out why im bleeding/cramping. ↑ |

| Hey EthansMom0213- I finally got my doctor to order another ultrasound, but I have to wait till friday! which seems like forever but it's just a couple days, at this point if I was pregnant there would be something there I would be coming up on 9 weeks pregnant now. The doctor also ordered a blood test that measures the exact amount of Hcg and see if that shows anything but won't know the results till tomorrow (wednesday). Ah I feel like I'm going nuts I just want to know either way, i don't like sitting here playing the what if game!!!! ↑ |

| Hi ladies!!Iam 19 going on 20 and Could I be pregnant?? I been getting up everyday sicker to my stomach and going to be sick to my stomach the day I am usually fine.. I have been craving Mexican food and I hate Mexican food.. I gained bout 15 pounds in two weeks.. My bf said I don't ever eat the much.. I been so tired.. I missed my wonderful period.. I am like a week late.My brest always hurt before my period but they don't hurt and last month I had something weird they wouldn't quite hurting all month.. Then I hadn't ever had cramps like I did last month (usually don't get em).. Been getting cramps and nothing this month.. I took a test this morning and it said negative?? I even hate cooking and I really been waiting to do that and my friend said I was nesting or something??I have been frequently urinating.. My bf said Iam so moody. I got to hot and cold quick now to.. The list goes on.. So could someone tell me why I keep getting negative test I had this morning and it was negative and a week ago and it was negative.. I'm happy to see that they have agreed to another ultrasound and blood work. Hopefully they will find something or at least figure out what the heck is going on. Good luck and keep me posted.

Although some pregnancy test you can take 5 days before your missed period they could still come back with a negative result because you HCG level is not high enough to be detected. This is why most of the time, unless you already had a positive HPT, the doctor wants to wait at least 2 weeks from the first day of your missed period. I would recommend waiting a couple of days and take another. If it comes back positive obviously your going to want to call you doctor to set up an appointment (they may just have you go for blood work and then schedule an appointment afterwards). If it comes back negative once again you could wait to see if maybe your just late this month (stress, illness, excercise can all affect your cycle) and then call your doctor if you still haven't had your period. Or you can call you doctor right away to set up an appointment to pin point what the reason might be that your late, which could be just that your pregnant. ↑ |
