Ok I know this post may spark up a debate, I don't mean to start arguments just want opinions.....
I just was wondering if any of you think Mccain's running mate was choosen to compare with Obama's history making campaign??? I mean she's an unheard of female and by NO MEANS am I saying a female is not qaulified to run, I was fully behind Clinton but had to move to the Obama camp when he got the nomination for the dem frontrunner. Anyhow do you think he choose a girl so he can make history and his headlines are as big and history making as Obama's............I have to wonder if Obama was not an African American and not making the history he is, would Mccain have choosen a dif. running mate...perhaps a man??? I mean this just seems strictly tactical, and I bet if Mccain wins (oh dear I hope not) but in the event he does, and God Forbid something happens to the President do you all honestly think they will allow this woman to step in as commander and cheif???? I know they excepted Hillary with open arms, but she is a shred and take no bs kind of woman whom knows what she's doing and is tajken very seriously and has good overseas relations. Lets be honest who really ran the house in the Clinton administration............yes I beleive she did or at least had a HUGE role in doing so! BUt this woman was said to be just a reg. soccer mom just 2-3 years ago what experience and relations does she really have? And please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm just going off info. I have read I have no idea who this woman is. I am proud that we are at a place where a woman can have opportunities such as this. But I would be more impressed if I felt they were for the right reasons............like choosing her for her mind and capabilities rather than what she has between her legs so the headlines look good! ? ↓

JUNEAU, Alaska - In two short years, Sarah Palin moved from small-town mayor with a taste for mooseburgers to the governor's office and now — making history — to John McCain's side as the first female running mate on a Republican presidential ticket.
She has more experience catching fish than dealing with foreign policy or national affairs
This was written about her ↑ |
think though..there are plenty of women he could have chose and he picked her...so maybe she has something that better qualifies her than others....and hilary would never be mccains vp..too bad lols
i plan on voting for mccain..thats my personal choice..i think what Obama says sounds good but i dont think any of it is possible.. the president really has no control over alot of what happens in the gov't truely its congress and the senate..so therefore i think its crap that he think he can just go and change things like that...i wish it were that simple. ↑ |
Aparently she is a great woman, my mom has her books, but yes i do think its to sway the womens votes!!
but im voting for obama ↑ |
you also have to remember that obama has only been a senator for 2 years as well....
i dont think i'm going to vote this election. i dont feel that either candidate is qualified or experienced enough to get this country back on track :\ ↑ |
| i think its all a big circus now though....its rediculous ↑ |
| I agree that things are getting out of hand wiht this election, I like certain things about both candidates, BUT I don't trust either. ↑ |
I'm not a big fan of either canidate! I was all about Hilary Clinton!
Now I'm suck with dumber and dumber! Politics is a dirty game and its who every words sounds sweeter at the moment.
They are both playing a game. Obama I'm black so lets make history!
McCain now he has a female running mate?! Lets make history again.
I dunno, I'm just gald Bush is going to to out of office.
I truely believe Obama doesn't have the experience to run the nation. I DO NOT feel comfortable having someone in office running things for the 1st time. In this time in age, where we are at war, and forclosures are high, gas prices are soaring...I need to know the next president will go into office knowing full well what to do. Obama is stepping into really big waters wanting to president. But then again everyone deserves a chance right?
McCain has more experience and his plan on the war I feel will be heard more because he is a vet. The war is one of my top issues I want to hear about.
I dunno...right now I'm not for either...I'll choose when I step into th voting booth, should be interesting. ↑ |
Personally i really think Obama is the better choice, i think he has better plans for our country, im glad bush is out, but i think if McCain is jsut another bush! I dont want to see that happen again! I was for Hiliary as well, but shes backing Obama and the fact that she steped down to let him take it for the Dems thats great and it shows that she thinks highly of him!
I believe McCain is just trying to win the women voters over.. ohh and for my mom having her books... LOL wrong lady that was the other women for vp a while back or something like that...
any ways if McCain gets elected and dies this woman is going to be running our country, and she was only used to running less than 7,000 people, my mom is more qualified to be Vice president than her!!! ↑ |
| McCain did that to swing women voters on to the republican side. Woman are not stupid and they know thats the reason why he did it. Romney was a much better choice. I would rather take my chances with the new guy who seems sincere in his address to the nation than to vote for McCain and know that the country will be another Bush term. McCain also needs to drop the whole inexperience talk with Obama after choosing Palin as a running mate. Im sorry, but I won't feel comfortable with Palin as Commander and chief if for some reason McCain was to pass away. ↑ |
| This woman has less than 2 years experience as a governor and was the mayor of some small Alaskan town...how the HELL does that qualify her to hold the second most powerful seat in the world?!? I get that he has to fill his minority quota if he wants to stand up to Obama, but come on! Is that the best we can do?!?! I am so tired of all of these Evangelical Bible thumpers hijacking the Republican party. Joe Biden is going to rip her to shreds in the debates. What an embarrassment. And let's face it ladies and gentlemen...John McCain isn't exactly young himself. 72 YEARS OLD? If heaven forbid something were to happen to him, this Alaskan beauty queen is going to be running the free world. Seriously COME ONE....Now that's scarey??? I shudder to think about it. ↑ |
| OOO how exciting my mom is getting to meet Joe Biden today!! ↑ |
| sorry for bringing this back up, but if Mccain and Palin win, I'm scared for Americas future! ↑ |
| Did anyone watch Sarah Palin speech? ↑ |
What are some of the issues you are looking for in an candidate?
Do you support guy marriage? What are you views on abortion? What are you view on crime, sentencing, and the death penalty? What are you views on illegal drugs? What about Homeland Security? How about the war and the economy?
The war is my top priority and I believe John McCain has a better plan. The ecomomy and the job market is number 2 on my list. McCain has my vote there too.
Whoever wins Obama or McCain, they will ultimately have to clean up the mess Bush made!! ↑ |
I haven't read any responses all the way through yet just skimmed so far.
I like this lady, my post was not saying I disliked her, but I just think she's not as qaulified and she was choosen merely because of her gender and pos. because of her family issues atm moment w/ her teen preg. and all. This shows their beleif of pro life stance. Also they are trying to wooooo women voters, esp those Hillary supporters that are still not happy shes not a candidate any longer, they may swing their votes reb. now just because theres a woman running mate. I wonder if this poor woman and her family even realize she's being used as a political pawn.
I'm by no means saying shes dumb, she must be somewhat educated to have been mayor and now gov. BUt come on............ALASKA..........WTF???? They hardly have any population how hard could it be??? She doesn't hold the high connections, foreign relationtions, and experience that Se. Clinton has.................so I hope before anyone vote they don't vote based on gender, color, or party.........they should take in mind all angles and what they think will be best for this country.
Yanick I agree that whom ever wins has a hell of a clean up job that will take more than likely their whole term in office or better. Bush has made a mess of our Good Country and he should face charges imo.
I am pro choice for many many many reasons
I support gay marriage
I have mixed feelings on the death penalty
As for illegal drugs.........what do you mean, what kind of punishment??? Depends on the charges.
Homeland security is imo a joke right now, it's cracked and flawed and in need of repair............
As for he war.........are we not after Bin Ladin, as well as his terrerist???? I find it funny we can locate one single jalopeno that carried samonilla and what farm it came from but we can't find his ass in those moutains........imo we do know where he is but have other things to finish up on the agenda before we capture him because once we do the American public will want out troops pulled out and our millitary officials are not ready to pull out........or else he just does not exsist.........I have heard many ppl say that and was like no way he's real.............but if you think about it, it make syou wonder.
Economy is one of my top priorities Yanick...........since this ression mess, we are not being pinched any longer it feels more like being chocked.........their are some months I have had to dip into savings to cover our monthly expenses.
I am def. a dem. so my vote will go to Obama although I am still a hard core Hillary supporter........... ↑ |
First off my mom is a politician, so she knows her shit, and apparently as my mom said and then they re iterated it again on the news and the radio to day that just about every thing sarah palin said in her speech was BS and the news proved it one thing at a time.
And as for McCain, he to me looks very sickly like he could be admited any time into the hospital for his cancer,
Their plans suck, instead of making a better plan for alternate oil sources, ie energy, solar and what not, his plan is to "DRILL BABY DRILL" WTF are you serious???? what happens when there is no more oil??? then what?? they should be promoting alternate.
sources.
And then for her to say "clean coal" there is no such thing as clean coal!!! its the dirtiest! and horrible for our planet and what it does to our earth, and how they go about getting it. and not to mention the people that are sent down in mine shafts that haven't been inspected properly.
Its just stupid, and her to say how smaller towns do it better, and are harder workers that BS!!
And I support POW's and i understand that McCain was one, but they keep talking on and on about it about how commendable he is, well what about all the POW who never came back or the ones who are missing body parts, no one ever talks about them!
They say we are so close to winning this war, yet we are so far and its not even in site! I just have bad feeling with this man, and what hes going to do, its just a load of BS to me! ↑ |
| ohh and as for my views, Yes i support gay marriage and as for abortion, yes and no! but soem people arent responsible parents, and either that child is going to die a horrible death by parents making them suffer, or by being abused therir entire life and being taken away and put up for adoption, I rather not see that and if that mother thinks that she cant do that job properly, then let her make the choice, and as for Palin talking about Acquaintance..... Obviously her plan didn't work with her own children, the proof is in her daughter!! , I could care less that her daughter is a teen, shit happen! but at the same time her Family needs her more than ever, esp with 2 babies soon to be in the hose, one as of now is special needs, and she is going to be out of the state for days on end away from her family its sad, and sis any one notice that her husband works for oil companies and her sister just opened her own Gas station,..... ever one is in oil in her family, no wonder she supports it! ↑ |
OOPS
Acquaintance.= Abstinence ↑ |
Lauren I agree...Palins speech was A HUGE LOAD OF CRAP.
Parts of her speech and then the REAL FACTS!
PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."
THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
((I VOTE OBAMA))
PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."
THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.
He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
(( I VOTE OBAMA)) ↑ |
| i think i have decided that i am not going to vote..i dont like either candidate enough..but i dunno...i wish i could know what they were btoh REALLY going to do. because well..they are probably both liars..no politician is truly honest because they want to be elected. i hate that the republican party chose McCain he was not the best choice they had...especially consideing who they had running... i dont want another 4 years like the last 8 but i dont know if i want 4 years of what the democrats have to offer either. ↑ |
| Oh and by the way her family doesn’t need her to stay home! Who cares that they are going to be 2 babies in the house, who cares that one is special needs. So what that she’s going to be away for long periods of time?! WHO CARES! This just upsets me, and let me tell you why. Just because she is women doesn’t mean cannot have it ALL! She can be a VP and still be a wonderful and devoted mother. I don’t hear ANYONE criticizing McCain or Obama stating that they should stay home and be an at home father figure and be more present in their childrens lives!!!! Her being a mother has nothing to do with being McCain running mate. ↑ |
I agree Danese but at the same time voting is very important.
If you don't vote you don't have the "right" to complain you have the ability to change the world. As an American and female it’s a privilege to vote, it really is. In parts of the world people do not get to vote for their next "leader", or just the men can vote. I'm not sure who I’m going to vote for either, but I will.
Right now it’s a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils. I'm not impressed by either.
I miss Hilary!!! ↑ |
i would have voted for hillary... and i am a republican...
i wish mitt romney had won the reb nomination. our country could do so much better ↑ |
oh my mom works with a lady who is from alaska and she said that sarah plain is a really good person and a good govener
OHHHHH i have a question...who is governing alaska while she is out campaigning? ↑ |
no one i guess, and if she doesnt win, she cant be governor any more!
Yanick, I understand that any one can do the job, but i just dont see leaving her family for days on end esp with such a new baby, its not a 9-5 job its a 24-7 job! and her family needs time too esp the little ones and soon to be grand child no one else has children as young as her's that's running for vp ↑ |
