I'm so scared of giving birth and the pain does anyone else feel this way? ↓
|
|
yeah i'm scared too. how far along are you? ↑
It is scary to think about giving birth. But take it from someone who has been through it 4 times already, you will be able to do it. Dont be afraid to ask for pain meds when you feel you need them. I had a spinal block with my first baby and was very sick afterwards, my next three were all delivered naturally, with no pain meds and I felt so awesome afterwards. I wont lie, it is painful but sooooo worth it in the end. ↑
So Michelle you would suggest giving birth naturally instead of a epidural. I'm three months along and have gone back and forth on this issue. ↑
Well it was best for me but honestly I cant say what you should do. Trust me by the time it was too late I was begging for that pain medication. lol but of course i was too far along to get any. Just go in with an open mind and do what ever you feel you need to do, trust me theres is nothing wrong with opting for that epidural. I was just blessed with fast labors after my first. Good luck in whatever you decide. ↑
I'm 23 weeks along and i'm feeling pretty sick today. how are you feeling ↑
I'm 15 and had my first baby 3 months ago. It's really painful but worth every second.I had a natural birth and it is really painful but the pain is really short. ↑
I think it's pretty common to be scared. My Dr. told me it was a fear of the unknown- not knowing what to expect for pain and how I would handle it. Once you get closer to your due date though, you get so uncomfortable and so anxious to see your baby that it helps, you actually want to go into labor. A friend told me to look at all of the people that I know that have kids and remind myself that they did it, many of them even did it more than once! You'll be fine when the time comes, we all get nrevous.. ↑
im 38 weeks 4 days, and im a little nervous and scared of how painful it's going to be but Im more frantic of her hurrying up and coming. ↑
I am an anesthesiologist and pregnant and if you think you want an epidural, you should get one. Fear is not a good reason to suffer. In skilled hands, side effects are minimal. Risks do exist, but the majority of women who get epidurals (or combined spinal epidurals) have relief and can focus on the birth of the baby instead of pain. ↑
Amy, that's so well put! I never did understand the whole issue with epidurals, I got one and am soooo glad I did! It allowed me to concentrate on having my baby, not the pain. My sister gives me a hard time for taking the "easy way out" but 2 days to be induced? I think I suffered enough going into day 2 of labor. (BTW she had 3 hours of labor and took the IV drugs, not to mention had babies over 2 pounds smaller than mine.) I think you should be open to whatever and if you feel like it's getting out of your control, take the epidural...Amy, you have such a great job! ↑
