Jasmine just doesnt seem interested in it. I have a few laying around but I only use them when she is hungry and I cant give her a bottle right away. Other than that, she really doesnt suck on it. Did your little one want one from the beggining or were they like mine and didnt have anything to do with one? ↓

Many babies are fussy about the nipple shape. I pushed my son to use one b/c the reduce the risk of SIDS when the child is put to bed with one. ↑
My girls didn't take to their soothers right away and both were bottle / breastfed. How old is Jasmine? I think it was probably a good two to three weeks before they actually wanted them to calm or sooth them ↑
cadence doesnt EVER want one unless i give her one when shes STARVING. But I force them in her mouth to reduce SIDS. ↑
I wouldn't give one to Sarah until after we had established breastfeeding, which was about 3 weeks. She loves hers now though -- she needs it to fall asleep, or will take it for a couple min while I get ready to feed her. ↑
You are such a great mom whit "I force them in her mouth to reduce sids"
LMAO ↑ |
How do you force them to take one? Kaden HATES them--spits them right out....Kenzi was the total opposite, she couldn't live without hers and it was a pain in the ass to get her to stop using it, I swore she wouldn't have it after one year old, well it was almost 2 before we got her to forget about it (oh that bothers me.... 2+ year olds running around w/ pacifers). ↑
chloe did not take a spacifer until she was about 6weeks old and was picky on the nipple shape. she likes it somethimes and sometimes she dont care for it! ↑
im a good mom. im keepin her alive.. haha ↑
mine likes soothies hates all the others but isnt interested really ↑
umm Tyler hates his, he spits it right out, and sticks his hands in his mouth, but then that doesn't satisfy him so then he screams lol but he likes the NUK ones better than the soothe one the hospital gave us
and i was a thumb sucker till i was in 8th grade so i had a feeling that he would be too, and i have seen him with his thumb in his mouth its soo cute!! lol ↑ |
I didn't let Noah have one at all. The hospital gave us one, but all the nurses and even the doctor asked me if he could have it. I asked the doctor how necessary it was because I had heard that having one helps them learn to suck and helps prevent SIDS. She said they are going to learn to suck whether I give him the binkie or not (Noah had no problem with that). She also told me that a binkie hasn't really been proven to help SIDS, but that it is possible. She also said they can in some cases cause nipple confusion. I just cannot stand to see a beautiful little baby and then this big ol thing in its mouth... expecially once they are walking. But thats just me... I also had Noah off the bottle before he was 8 months. ↑
Wow---Kenzi broke herself from the bottle at about 11 months--she just refused to take it, just wanted formula from a sippy cup. (but still llloovveed her pacifer!). I hope Kaden is that easy--you see so many kids running around with bottles way after 12 months--I don't want that to happen (well, I won't let it happen) ↑
My Kaden is 6 months and I already have him on one of those Nuby transitional cups. Definitely for juice and water, and sometimes for milk. He will use one no problem. He is also using his soother way less. ↑
I'll have to check into those 'Nuby transitional cups'---guess I haven't seen them. When did you start Kaden on juice and how much does he get a day---I've been thinking about it for my Kaden..... ↑
"i've been thinking about starting Kaden on juice" that last sentence sounded funny..... :)
But anyways, I just can't remember when I started Kenzi on juice...... ↑ |
hey, give me some of that Juice!! lol ↑
Anika hated it. Lex loves it!! ↑
The nuby cups didn't work for Noah...He hated them and refused to drink from them. I started him with the gerber soft spout ones and then gradually got him to drink from the harder spout ones. Noah is 13 months now and he still doesn't really care for juice but man does he drink milk... I'm going through a gallon of milk every 2- 2 1/2 days. ↑
