There is a lot of different types of B.C. out there. Your doctor can help you decide what is best for you and your body. Some people have a hard time remembering to take a pill everyday. So if you have a har tiime remembering I would say pills are not for you. I'm thinking about the Nuvaring. You insert the ring and leave it in for 3 weeks and then take it out for a week before inserting a new one. However, some told me that two girls they knew didn't insert it correctly and became pregnant. I have no idea what they did wrong. Anyone that I have known to use the patch did not like it. And the Depo-Provera shot typically causes you to gain weight. It is preferred in those who have a bad memory b/c you only get a shot every 3 months.

Well im going to be using the pills,, because i wont do the shot, ive heard horrible things about it, LOL and the weight gain doesnt bother me LOL no patch and im not too sure about the nuva ring either, iver heard that is come out before and even on the guys penis during sex LOL

WHAT?! I never heard that...damn was the hung like King Kong!
That's embrassing....lol.

What about the IUD? Thought about that? But I've heard too, that sometimes they can feel it...

I have an appt atthe end of the month to talk about my BC options...I'm still leaning towards the Nuva Ring.

What of BC are you interested in? There's Yaz and Ortho an genrics too.

I don't want the shot...and yes its about the weight gan And I've heard hair loss. The depo is a no-no for me.

I have been on many different types of birth control. Many different pills including seasonale which helps you skip periods. I had horrible break through bleeding witht that.

I Have also been on the nuvaring. I loved it at first. I felt it was so freeing to not have to remember to take a pill, and you can leave it in for a 4th week and skip your period as well. But then I started having sex with it in. They say you can leave it in to have sex but I felt like it would rub a sore spot inside of me, as well as the dude's dick would often bring it out or it would get stuck around his dick. Then you would have to wash it off before you could put it back in. It was just very akward. So I went back on the pill.

Since I had Brooke I have had an IUD which I freaking love! I have had 1 period in 2 years and it was the period for after having Brooke as well as getting my IUD inserted. I have had no issues. I did have a little random cramping for the first 6 months that I had it in but it was never bad. I LOVE IT!!! lol. It is the closest thing to sterilization that you can get, in other words there is the biggest chance that you WON'T get pregnant on it. Not everyone has had the same results as me, but i do love it. But I also don't want another kid anytime soon.

Me personally, I have gotten pregnant twice on the pill, so I don't think it is a safe bet.

Good luck!

Nikki, have you had sex on the iud??

Name: NIKKIS | Date: Aug 9th, 2008 5:04 PM
nope i haven't had sex since april 07, which means yes it has been over a year and the last time i did it i was pregnant. and i won't be having sex any time soon because i don't date and i have no desire to date. i'm thinking about being single forever. but randi has an iud, so ask her what sex is like with it.

LOL ok i will

Thanks Niki for your input. So now I'm going to stay clear of the Nuva Ring

Question: The IUD stops periods completely? Or is it that how it reacts with your body you haven't have a period in awhile?

And if you ask Randi about the sex thing let me know too pleeeaaassse.

The IUD's job is not to stop your period, but it does for a lot of women or it makes their periods lighter and shorter. (the mirena that is, go to their website, it has a lot of info and will answer a lot of your questions) I know me and my docotor have had ours in for about the same amount of time and both of us are period free. Now I did have a period when I first got it in, it was at the same time as the one for after you have a baby, so I had 6 weeks of on and off bleeding that I only needed a panty liner for. but I have heard that doesn't happen to everyone and my doctor said it just happened like that for me because of when i got it in.

I was on the Seasonique pill for a year after I had my son. The breakthrough bleeding in the beginning was annoying but when it stopped I was good to go. You get your period every 3 months so thats why I chose it. I had no problems while taking it but discontinued because we don't plan on having anymore kids so hubby got snipped.

I WAS using Camila tablets. But I stopped b/c hubby and I are thinking of trying for #3 soon. They were one of the best for breastfeeding. They won't interfere with milk production. But before I had Chloe, for years I was on the Nuvaring. And I loved it! But a couple times, during sex, the ring would end up completely around hubby's penis! LMAO! All the way down it too! LOL.
