Well, today I was offered a job working with dogs and cats in the veterinary field ... The pay isn't the greatest, and we'd have to put Joey into daycare if I worked weekdays (which I wasn't planning on doing till he was 1 year) Also the costs of travelling there and daycare would practically outweigh the pay ... and daycare is so high for a young baby. I could potentially work weekends, so Mark could look after Joey then, but I'm reluctant ... would you?

after you factor in the price of daycare and the gas per week. if it adds up to you pay check or close to it. i woundnt take the job. i could see if the pay is good. I would just spend time with my child. There is not any amount of money that could make me miss memories of my child. just wait maybe something better will come along in the fututre when your child is a little older.

I wouldn't do it. Its not worth it.
If you're going to work just to pay childcare, i say no.
But if you were paying childcare and have some extra spending money I would say yes.
Do you want to get out the house?
Do you have a family member who would watch Joey for free or at a rate lower than daycare?

In my opinion, working to pay for gas in the car and childcare isn't worth taking the job, but that's just me. I know that you have said you get down being "secluded" from the rest of the world all day long so maybe in your case it would be a good thing. In the end, you have to do what's best for you and your family.

No family members here in Belfast no, absolutely noone to watch Joey ever ... Which is partially why I think a job might be good for me ...
But yeah, I can see your points. I might see about working weekends, so Mark could look after Joey then ...

We just couldn't put our child in daycare and we worked split shifts. It was so hard and we would never do it again. We really have to watch our money and only buy what we need but we're so much more happier. However, there are times when I wouldn't mind working just to get out of the house.
I think the best thing to do is make an A list and a B list for pros and cons of working along with your feelings and Marks. Sometimes it helps to see it laid out on paper.
Wish you the best in whatever you choose.

Yea maybe weekends would be best.
Because working to pay for daycare and gas, not worth it at all!
Good luck with whatever you chose.

I personally wouldn't but only because I would not put my kids in daycare- ever.
I had to give up my job in the veterinary field when I was super pregnant with Kaden. It was too taxing. Now, it's too time consuming with little kids but I am planning on going back when both my kids are in elementary school.
What would the point of working be if all you are paying for is daycare?
