Being diabetic doesn't mean you have to have a c section. Have you looked into other options? ↑
I had an emergency c-section and it was so much better than I ever thought. The only pain I had was for about 20 mintues about an hour after when the pain meds had worn off and before they gave me more. I was under local anesthesia and I'd also had an epidural earlier during labor. ↑
It is true what Mamal said. When I was in the induction room, there was a woman opposite from me whose labour was being induced 2 weeks early because she was diabetic. I met her the next day and she had her baby vaginally with no probs. Maybe your diabetes is complicated or different from hers? I dunno. ↑
Yes they do like to induce if you are diabetic or have gestational diabeties. But it does not have to be via c-sec. unless the baby has gotten to large due to the diabeties which often happens, and would not fit through the mothers birth canal......so to save both mother and baby undue stress they induce. ↑
i WAS INDUCED WITH MY LAST SON, AND I WAS ALSO DIABETIC, THAT WAS THE WORSE THING i COULD HAVE DONE. i WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK AFTERWARDS FROM PROBLEMS AND HE WAS A LARGE BABY. i AM ONLY 4 MONTHS AND ALREADY MEASURING LARGE. i AM ALSO HAVING MY TUBES TIED AFTER THIS BABY, SO WE HAVE DISCUSSED ALL OPTIONS AND FEEL THIS IS THE BEST ROUTE TO TAKE. i AM ALSO INSULIN DEPENDENT SO THAT MATTERS A LITTLE TO. i AM JUST REALLY NERVOUS ABOUT THE PAIN AFTERWARDS. ↑
