i was just wondering if at in point in your pregnancy you can safely dye your hair and it won't hurt the baby. i know that bleaching is a bad idea anytime during the pregnancy, but i'm just interested in dyeing my hair dark to my natural color. im getting married in 3 months and i don't want bad roots.

i talked to my doc and she said she doesnt see any problem as long as you have it professionally done and let them know you are pregnant they should know what to do. I am 5 mons 1 wk 2days. she told me this when i was 20 wks.

it will never be harmful to the baby. the main reason they way to wait until after the first trimester is due to the fact that you the mother are more likely to have an allergic reaction to the chemicals. Also bleaching is fine too infact it is less risky because the solution does not touch you scalp in most cases unless you are going for the all over white blond look. As long as you are in a well ventilated area you are fine. All salons are well ventilated.

It's okay to dye your hair - just be careful because your skin may react differently. I dyed mine about 2 weeks ago (at 26 weeks) and the color didn't come out funky or anything... but my skin was more sensitive.

I talked to my doctor about coloring my hair and she said to absoluetly NOT do it while pregnant or breastfeeding. She told me and my husband that anything you put on your body such as hair dye or even some lotions, they go into your bloodstream just by you putting them on, and she said it was VERY harmful to the baby especially in your first and second trimesters. So I would go against it.
