Yes, I know that I am just another pregnant teen...
I am 17 and I am due September 23 with twins (that will be 37 weeksm not 40).. So currently I am almost 18 weeks... I am single, although I do have some support from my friends... I am basically just looking for advice and friendship from people who are or have been in my situation.. I don't want to be criticised for my bad choices as everyone makes mistakes, and I am taking responsiblity for that now.. I love my unborn babies more than anything in this world and I would do anything for them.. I'm just looking for someone to talk to as I am feeling quite lonely with this pregnancy.. I hope your feeling as well as you possibly could be, seeing that your carrying twins. I do not and no else has the right to put you down about being pregnant, but you also have to think about what is best for your babies. I was your age when I got pregnant and it was the hardest time of my life. I was to young to care for my child and I had only a high school education, and making minimum wage, it became clear I had to do what was right for my child, and I did what I had to do, to make sure she was take care of and I picked her new parents myself, and when I gave her up it was the hardest thing I ever did, but it was the most unselfish thing I ever did also. And yes I think of her every day, but I know she is safe, healthy, loved and she has the best of all worlds. I am not saying you should do this, that was me and my decision, but I want you to know there are others out there, that know where you are, and also what is ahead of you, and I want you too know your options, and think about what is best for your babies.

hi, im 17 and im pregnant. this really scared the hell out of me. this is a VERY unwelcome pregnancy. i have one friend who i've told, as well as my partner and we've all talked it through. i went through depression but that is something far behind me (though it will always be a part of my life) i have decided not to have the baby and i think its the right choice for me. i just want to say that i think you're so brave for having twins! and im really hapy for you, id love to have a baby but i really dont think its fair to raise a child in my situation, not fair on it, me or my partner. im 8 weeks pregnant and it really sucks. 'morning' sickness sends me running out of class in the middle of day and the mood swings make it really hard on my boyfriend. i really wish i had someone i could talk to about it, someone who wouldnt judge me for my mistakes and my decisions

Having twins is the most amazing expereince. My twins are 3 now and full of energy. I would strongly recommend you find a Moms of multiples group in your area. They can be extremely helpful during pregnancy as well as when your twins arrive. It helps to talk to people who have twins. We all make choices and some aren't the best. i don't have twins but i did give birth to a beautiful baby boy and i just want you to know that it is the best thing that happened to me. I am the same age you are and it has been alot of hard work this far but it is also amazing. everyday when i get up and look into those big blue eyes it makes it all make since. i am doing it and you can to. Have faith in yourself and never let anyone put you down for being a teen mom, because you are doing right for your babies. I wish you all the luck in the world.

What you need to do is relax, and spend alot of time by yourself, my one friend candice was in matric in 2005 and she had 15 abortions in one year.that is really bad. Being depressed can't affect your pegnany only if you do the wrong things like smoking or drinking. so here's a tip, if you need to talk to someone go to your closest friend and tell her your problem Congrats and good luck for you and your twins = |

Hi Ash,
Congradulations on your pregnancy. It will be hard that is for sure. I am not your age however I did have my first son at 17 another at 19 then again at 20. They were a year and six months apart. They take up most of your time. Night time is a blessing when they are asleep unless you have a collicky baby. (one that doesnt' sleep at night). I lost most of my friends when I became pregnant and I became very lonely and depressed. Dont' listen to anyone who will critize you, they are not you. If you can be the best mom you can be even if it means getting help from family when you get tired out, (if that is available to you) you'll be just fine. It is alot of work double for you. TO JESSICA who posted on 7/23/2006-- even though its been a long time since you posted, i wanted to make an adjustment to your statement that stress/depression cant affect your pregnancy unless you begin doing things you shouldn't such as smoking or drinking or the like. Stress/Depression are some of the main causes of miscarraiges. I am currently 4 months pregnant but i have been pregnant before. I didn't know it though. I and my boyfriend, who is now my husband, were having a rough time 2 years ago and it was constant arguments and off/on style relationship. It was the hardest time of my life so far. And I've been through some crap. I had a miscarraige while i was sleeping. It was painful but I was mostly taken by the shock that I didnt know I was pregnant. My periods have never been regular and I have gone one year only having 2 periods so missing periods never bothered me enough to test. I was afraid it meant infertility but I just didn't know anything about it. So just to make a simple note, stress and depression do affect your pregnancy a lot.
To all the teens and women on this website. Keep your hopes hi and your faith higher. Everybody messes up, nobody is perfect. If there's a time you find yourself mad because you were living a perfect life, try walking on water. 1st Timothy 4:12 is a good scripture, my fave, that talks about age. There is nothing wrong with being young. many young parents are just as good, if not better than older ones. Don't stress and don't abort your baby because your scared. I went to abort this one, not wanting anyone to know I had messed up have premarital sex, when it hit me. I can't walk on water. I'm not perfect. It's not over. A lady at the abortion clinic in houston, tx gave me an ultrasound to determine how far I was and how much it would cost, 500 dollars, and when I looked at the screen I saw this tiny little baby who was developing fingers and toes. I couldn't do it. For some people, adoption is the answer. Sometimes God gives children to those who can't take care of them so they will give them to those who can. I am keeping mine because I am able to. Some women aren't. Everything happens for a reason so please don't lose hope. Hey! Have you ever stayed up late babysitting neices or nephews or friends babies or children you're getting paid to watch? Sometimes its hard! It's great you want to be a mother. That shows you really want to care for another person. A lot of people don't. Your age has nothing to do with what your heart is capable of doing. Its your level of maturity that counts. Your wanting to have a baby already. Your heart is ready to love someone else. Is your time ready to take care of someone else? What about your money? I wanted a baby ever since I was 12 years old. Of course I didnt have one but I'm pregnant with one right now. It has its ups and downs. Being sick and tired isnt fun. I'm really amazed that you want to love someone so soon. My only suggestion to you is to try it first! Babysit older kids first and then try to babysit little babies. Infants or newborns. Sometimes its rocky but you may be the best mommy out there just waiting for your chance. Try it and let me know how it goes. I wouldn't have kids until you tried it first.
