My parents sent me to "counseling." After that it only gets worse!!!!! I mean why can't they just leave us the hell alone??? If anyone has answer I would LOVE to know!!!!!!!!!

Mostly b/c they are scared for you. I mean, if you had a daughter that came home and rolled up her sleeves, and the had cuts all up her arm, wouldn't you freak out? I mean, they probably think you have been trying to commit suicide or something.
And when you cut are you usually mad or depressed? They might (jussst might, LOL!) not be so stupid, and they pick up on the fact that you use it to help yourself get through things. And it probably makes them feel like they arent doing their job as parents, No matter HOW confident they are in their parenting.

They want to help any way they can.....
If one of my kids were cutting I would feel like I was not seeing what I should be......I would feel so hurt for them....I would want to help them and get them the help that they need.....
Not being able to release the pain inside, so cutting is not an answer.......I would do anything for my children....
This is probably why parents freakl out!!!!

| They might just not understand . Help them understand and then they will take credit for helping you but at least you know its you. Some people see thier children as themselfs. They don' t admit it- but they are still learning , give them time to figure it out. Sometimes the councelors know its the parents that need help but they can't say that. Or maybe you need to pick the councelor- someone cool make a deal with them. Its time to raise your parents ↑ |
