Hey if theyre honor students i wouldnt worry about it...when it starts affecting their homework and school work..maybe then.
If its annoying you, youre going to have to come up with a better reason than that to place a curfew...um cause theyre honor students who are bound to argue the reason...or you can just place the curfew anyway ..afterall you pay for it. Unless you introduce an alternative...be prepared for some grumpy maybe even angry kids.
good luck ↑ |
Thanks Marija,
I hear you. I just think that watching TV for so long is passive and a waste of time, and I do expect an argument should I decide to do it. There is so much one can do outside the cyber and tv world. ↑ |
Totally 100% agree with you..have the same prob*teenage boy post* when i was a kid i grew up in the country, we lived in a country where there were only 2 channels and both sucked for kids! we only had a black and white tv (we were poor) so outdoors was the only alternative..we used to eel at the creek, swim..whether it was freezing or not, explore old broken down houses, horseride..(we never had one..we would borrow one from a paddock..lol) We live semi rural, Yet my teens wont move outside at all..but then we have so much indoors..internet where they socialize with their cousins that live interstate.(not a bad thing considering they are close) video games that all their friends have so they can discuss the whole game plan when they get to school..cable tv to keep up with the latest in music.
Their whole social outlooks and life are indoors. I dont like it but am learning to accept it. I think its making the world singular..all things out there the latest gadgets are all surrounding...one. ↑ |
Marija, my upbringing is very similar to yours. we were poor too, we made something from nothing. we were creative. My boys are bright, but are hooked to the new technologies of our times
