Most pet stores stock toys for rabbits and other rodents. Rabbits need branches to chew on to keep their teeth in check as they can grow too long and cause problems with their feeding.

They also like to dig holes in the ground.

I know from experience that rabbits love to tunnel or hide. Taking a large pvc pipe and cutting large holes in it would be great. You could also do the same with a box or a basket.

I have other ideas you could also use
.rubber balls if they are not chewed
.baby toys
.hanging toys
.rice mats
.things to climb on
I hope you have got some ideas.

empty wooden thread spools, if you can find them at flea markets, make good toys they can chew them like branches

the branches help with teething and there all natural so the rabbite wont take in toxins and colorings. My rabbit loves it log.and it was so easy to make.Heres how ,
take a log longer then your rabbit but tall and wide enough so it can fit.next take a tool that will howl out the log.make sure the log will not roll if the rabbit jumps on it so just nail it to a flat wooden board.rabbits like to eat bark and moss so this tunnel has several purposes 1 a look out 2 a toy tunnel and 3 something to chew on

i have made a few of my own bunny toys! One which all my buns love is coffee jar lids. they throw it around for ages. another one which i give them is an old towel. they love to scrunch it and dig it etc. I dont know how practical it is for you, but if you half fill a baby bath or similar with peat and hay, the bunnies love to dig in it. helps stop them from digging things you dont want them to! my buns also love balls and anything that jingles. a cardboard box does wonders too! hope this helps xx

shredded paper is great for your bunny to burrow in and move around in

toilet paper tubes stuffed with timothy or alfalfa hay they love to chew on it and throw it

Name: Megan | Date: Jul 12th, 2007 8:07 PM
cat toys with bells that they can pick up and throw

baby rattles or keys made of HARD plastic

a toilet paper roll stuffed with hay

washed and dried lids from laundry detergent

cardboard boxes with small starter holes cut in them that the bunny can finish

a concrete form tube from the hardware store will cost you less than $10 and give your bunny a long tunnel to run in. These are great when placed behind furniture.

Toys that can hang from the top of the cage, some bird toys are good for this, but don't buy any with rawhide on them

As for litter, don't use sawdust! Pine and cedar shavings are dangerous as well. Aspen is okay, but you're better off with carefresh or feline pine or something like that. Where do you live? If you have a fireplace store near you wood pellet fuel makes cheap excellent litter. Please research litter training and other things at www.rabbit.org

Katie, the best website to learn about rabbits is http://www.rabbit.org . . . And if your rabbit sits in the corner all day, he is probably scared. I recently got two 2 month old double-maned lionheads from a woman who had kept them outdoors, and the day I brought them home, they were completely frightened of everything. It takes time for shy rabbits to warm up to people, so give your rabbit patience. When you let your rabbit out to play, try sitting in his play area quietly for an hour or so every day so he gets used to you. You could also lay on your stomach (so he feels more comfortable and you don't look like a giant) and hold out treats in your hand. Rabbits are very curious animals, and eventually he will come and investigate you. Give him time too, before you try to reach out and pet him, or he will run away. Also, since Angoras are long-haired, you'll have to brush him every day and if the fur gets matted, cut out the mats. When I brush my rabbits, I hold them on my lap with a towel, pet them, and then begin to brush them. I use a dog flea brush and some dog coat trimmers. Be sure not to rake the rabbit's skin with the brush, and to coax out tangles with your fingers so as not to pull out his fur. Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

MY bunny is the kind of bunny that just gets fat but i have found many ways to keep him happy! A good idea is to get some sort of plush bunny for him to groom or just toss around or ballshung on his cage which string always do the trick too!

To all rabbit lovers and owners, i picked up the book Rabbits for Dummies....best book ever on how to care for them and what they enjoy for toys and how to read their body language to know if they are happy. It was $15 a very worthy investment
