I recently bought a small aquarium for my family. My kids, aged 5 and seven, absolutely love it! They can watch the fish for hours on end. With some supervision they can feed the fish on their own. Fish are cheap and a great way to get kids interested in pets and animals.  ?

We used to have a tropical aquarium and spent many happy hours predicting which fish would be floating dead on the top each morning. The funnest pet I ever had was a gerbil. It used to run all over and make burrows. They never bite and are very friendly.

I have a dog named Sammy and 3 betta fish and 4 tetras and 2 miky mouse fish.... My dog Sammy is a Bichon frise he is 6 yet still full of spunk and SOOO sweet and I am getting another Bichon dog that's going to be all mine, no1 ealse's... Sammy is the family dog but OMG I went to the pet store today to get more fish and I saw the CUTEST SWEETIST bichon you would ever see-- exept I couldn't get him because we just moved and we have to sell out old house before we can get my dog.... (.)_(.) *sighs* Oh well, my parents promised me I will get it before Christmas..... I hope they are right.... But amyway, I kinda am hoping for a female bichon that is 4-5 weeks old when I get her.... ya.... I think you can sell puppys when they are 4 weeks... so ya.... ya.... I used to have a turtle she was an African Sideneck but I had to give her away cuz of the whole sela monella thing.... i miss her.... Her name was Kiwi. Cute, huh? idk y I am wrighting so much.... When you add up all the stuff fish need in addition to the basics (the tank, the water, gravel, plants) fish are still one of the cheaper pets, but by far distance from overall cheap.

They can be great as a family project, though. Teaching kids about maintaining an artificial "world" (which is what you are doing, keeping the water at a constantly "right" level with the right pH and hardness and stuff) and watching them grow and do stuff and possibly breed- and the different behaviours from various species can be really interesting for everyone to get into. It's not fair to expect little kids to research fish or do the tank maintainance themselves, though.  =

i have had 3 hamsters so far in 10 months the first one got lose and we found him a week later a day after we got a new one. it went swimming in the fish tank a little while after that. our secound on we had for 7 months and i rescued a mother cat and kittens and they got in the cage and ate it. found him all over the house in the morning. the last on chewed through a tub in one nights time and got out it has been a mounth that it has been gone im afraid it is gone have set traps for it you know the bucket thing but no luck they are adicting for a little kid they love to take care of them we will get another one some proably once my daughter gets the money seved up to buy it .  =

According 2 my point of view i think fish are very boring now i have a reason for this and it is because they are not actionable and what that means is thgat fish only swim around in a tank and when you give them food they munch on it! now hamsters are very attractive because they are playful, actionable , cute , adorable and they last longer than fish! Now i have a hamster and her name is gucchi she has been alive for 5 months now and i hope i will have a merry christmas with her! she is everything i have needed for a friend when i am at home! so consider buying an adorable hamster you wont regret it!!!!  =
