I am surprised your vet is not much help...I am waiting for the 10th day of my bitches season to breed her. If i was having trouble like yours i would go to the vet, what else do you do?? mabe your other option is to try your Humain Sercertity for a 2nd opinion, i would. You have nothing to loose. There is allways a waiting list to get in the vets here in the uk, but if its just a simple yearly injection to take easy money, they want you in quick. In the mean time the only thing i can think of is to put a small t-shirt on your dog with some kitchen towel inside, until you get her in some where. Sorry this is not much help penny. But i think only a vet can help.
Explain to diffrent vets on the phone, see what they are prepared to do,1st before you travel with your dog.
Good luck.

My dog had a hormonal imbalance, she's not pregnant but she had milk. We milked her like a cow heehee or else the milk would dry up and it will turn into lumps in her breasts. I'm just wondering why you're breeding pits? I hope it has nothing to do about pitbull fights. :(

I know that with humans laxatives help to dry up breast milk but I wouldn't advise it without talking to a vet.

actually, 3 months, is a little early to be weaned, the longer there fed milk the healthyer they will be, but you have to slow up the weaning process. if its to late to go back to feeding the milk, then use a pump, and slowly "suckle" less and less each day, and her body will realize that its time to produce less milk. take all the milk one day, then just half the second day, then half of that, then half again, until shes all dried up =) hope this helped

Tonia, Are her are the lumps hot or changing colors? It is fairly common for dogs to have some lumps for a while after they dry up Not for more than 2 weeks though. I would contact your vet and ask what is recommended

I have bred rotties for a long time and allot of my girls have what I call the golden boob LOL one boob just has allot of milk production so I use antibodics to reduce the risk of mastitis and I milk that boob less and less each day till it drys up it is a obligation and a hassle but it is your female and you need to do it.
