| Hello, I'm 23 right now and I was born with a clef pallet. Yes, it was a long road to get to where I am today. When I was born in Aug. of 1984 in Lubbock Texas my parents had no idea what was to come. I went through several sergeries and one I can still remember and have nightmares about. After that sergery my mouth was to stay open for two weeks. Let me tell you that was bad. I had to have special bottles to feed off of cause I couldn't suck and most of the nipples back then were useless for me. Today you wouldn't know that anything was wrong beside the muffled voice of clef pallet ppl out there and a tiny holr that remains in the roof of my mouth. I to have a small mouth. I have met three other ppl with clef pallets and they also have the small mouth and muffled voice and we were all tease by those traits gowing up in school. ↑ |

| I HAD A DAUGHTER THAT WAS BORN WITH A CLEFT IN THE SOFT PALLET AND IT WENT UNNOTICED FOR SIX AND A HALF HOURS. WHEN THE DOCTOR THAT CHECKED HER AT BIRTH CAME BACK TO ME , SHE SAID THAT WHAT SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS LOOKING AT WHEN SHE CHECKED HER AT BIRTH WAS THE BACK OF HER THROAT. ↑ |

| hi i was 16 when i got preggy and i gave brith at 17 and once i gave brith my babby had to go see doctor and they said to me she has no roof of her mouth cleft palut she has had repaerd now but i still have problems and i haite coz i could not breastfreed or she could not suck on dummey ↑ |

| hi my name kayleigh i got rape when i was 16 then i found out i haveing a babby and i cryed coz i did no wot to do i kep on goin in hoptal coz my my ex betting me up and throughing me down the stars then i spilted up with i in 17 by then and i 7 mouth gone and i every moody and chilling and 9 mouths i went in to 1 june 07 and i did not give brith 4 june i in labour of 3 day 17 hour s and when she was born they took her off me said they to check of mouth boady and then they the roof is high and no pallet i cryed iwant to breastfeed but i could not do it coz nikita my little 9 mouth old babby girl and no suckshion and i had cleft pallet nerser come round every day to see how she doing and then her opaion cash at 8moths old it killed walking in hoptal on to ward looking at other babby and thing god she next to go in get reparid it took 4 hours long to repair the plaut and now she has wer little arm brages to stop her putting thing in to her mouth and we mange to get of bottels on to beaker 7 mouth old it was hard but we did now happy as day light happy babby i she still get bit of pain but aprt from that she ok ↑ |

Reply to Jesus and others who feel down about themselves.
I was born with the nose, lip and pallet clefts and I know exactly how you feel. When I got picked on in school I would fight and useually win, I always felt that my inner anger gave me a slight advantage on other kids. I ended up choosing to hang aroung the tough kids & bullies because they just wanted to cause trouble and most importantly, the other kids would leave me alone because i was with the bad crowd.
I have always been attracted to girls and have had girlfriends from when I was 7 years old and up. When I was 18 I had 5 girlfriends at the same time and believe me I do not consider myself good looking at all. When I got into my mid 20's my hair began to fall out, I was pretty devistated, I was wondering what else was gonna go wrong with me, how much more can i take?
Well Im now turning 43, I've been shaving my head completely bald for the past 10 years and getting women is not an issue for me at all. I have learned that the majority of women look for self confidence in men so if you can learn how to be a good guy, treat women with the utmost respect, I'm sure you will see what I mean. Heres an example you probably wont even believe but its 100% true.
I recently met a woman online, and she is beutiful, inside & out, she has been trying to find a partner to love for the past 2 years but most of the guys she meet all want her because she has a hot body. Now she had about 140 men on her friends list and I was simply added as another friend. After getting to know each other a little she had fallen for me, she has told me that nobody has ever wrote the things Ive written to her or made her feel the way I make her feel. I looked at some of the guys pics on her list and thought that it would be awesome to look like some of them, nice faces, hair, muscells, great jobs, you name it. I felt like the absolute bottom of the barrel in my own opinion but she seen something else in me. Well I could not proceed with her because i am living with another woman and I certailny didnt mean to start anything with the new one but my point is.
Show that you are confident even if you are not, instead of hiding in the shadows, make some noise so people will notice you. Try not to care what idots say, they have no clue and are just ordinary people, you are special so treat yourself like your special. ↑ |

| yes i hear you i found out on december 24 that my daughter didnt have a palete and she was born dec 5 she was starving like they released me from the hospital and all 2 find out our first christmas was in the MAC hospital now years later i am having all kinds of problems it never ends now she needes braces and i cant afford them do u know who will be able 2 help with this or am i sol cause i would like her 2 feel more confident about her looks tami ↑ |
