| I am a sister to a downs boy. He is 8 years ols this july. My parents found out just weeks after he was born but there was a lot of fuss over his diagnosis because the doctors had to test him serveral times to prove he had downs. I was 7 when he was born. I am now 16 and in the years I have lived with him he has not seemed to be diffrent from other children. Teejay (his name) is a unique little boy. such a charmer. he is a bit slow and doesn't like to follow instructions and hates the word no. He has a round chubby face with small ears and wide eyes. he is blonde wich is weird as no one in the family is blonde. he has difficult understanding words and is not a very good talker. he has is own way of spaking. he uses a special push chair and has special shoes to help him walk. theres lots about him i can write. Hes a lovely little lad and i love him to bits. hope ive been helpfull. ↑ |

| I have had two pregnancys in the last year where both were chromosome 21 the first we terminated and was told that it was just one of those things and that it wouldnt happen again . Then i got pregnant again and same thing happened baby was downs again same chromosome but this time i miscarried and i had decided to keep him . We was told neither me or my partner was a carrier it was just another one of those things has this happened to any one else . I just am scared of getting pregnant again for a third time and it being one of those things again i mean how many times can it be one of those things im just worried and im only 26 . ↑ |
| I'm a mother of a child with Down syndrome , I had the test at 12 weeks to measure the fat fold but my lily would not keep still, she tried for ages , did every thing she could I just remember going into the bath room and talking to my little one and saying that she didn't want any one to know, you see I knew, don't ask me how I knew I just did I told my partner all the way through but he just said I could possibly know but I did I spent the days through my pregnancy studying all I could about my baby's condition so it wasn't a shock to me when she was born they didn't tell me when she was born I told them. ↑ |
