Remember I said my daughter lost her tarantula?
Well.... apparently it was hiding some where in the wheel chair that she was renting while hers was being repaired.
What happened was.... when my daughters chair was finally repaired the repair guys came out to my house to pick up the loaner wheel chair that she had been using until hers was repaired, they then took the loaner wheel chair with the hidden tarantula back to the shop.
Today I got a knock at my door... it was the repair guy, he said that the shop had called him, asking if he knew any one with a large spider. He automatically remembered us telling him about our lost tarantula, because he didn't have our phone number to call us and let us know of the spider he came to our house.
Hubby drove 1 1/2 hours to get the tarantula, just to find on arrival that it was dead. The shop people was so freaked out about the spider they didn't take notice if it was alive or not, they just contained it by placing a cardboard box over it.
So now the mystery is over for us, we was wondering where the tarantula had gone.

Is your daughter upset about it? how old is she?

Thanks guys, but she wasn't one of those pets that I found myself attached to in an emotional way. Don't get me wrong, I do feel terrible for what she must have gone through in the past weeks I don't wish agony on any living creature.
Cjsims, LOL!!! My daughter bought the spider herself, shes 22 years old.

Nicola
My daughter is 22 years old. She is not upset like she would be if she lost her dog, not that the spider was any less alive then her dog. She is upset about the fact that we found her to late.

Bmes~
I guess the wheel chair repair person who found her thought it was a mouse, when he realized it was a spider he threw a cardboard box over it and called the delivery guy. Thats when the delivery guy remembered me and my daughter telling him about the missing spider.
Briseis~
She didn't appear to be dehydrated or starve her abdomen was still pretty big, also not wrinkly, thus indicating that she didn't starve or dehydrate.
I do believe she died due to stress and or cold.
The wheel chair repair shop is not heated. Tarantulas are unable to regulate their own body temperatures so if they are exposed to cold temperatures for to long they become stressed and will die.
Although her abdomen looked good in size she showed signs that she was indeed stressed. Tarantulas have hair like fibers on their body when stressed they will rub them of with their hind legs. Her whole butt was free of theses hairs, she was just about bald!

Nicola & FatallyYours
Even though she is dead I am glad we got her back. I was going out of my mind wondering what could have happened to her. I knew she was last seen on my daughters lap, myself and several others searched the whole wheel chair up and down with no signs of her. I was convinced the spider was roaming the house some where!
Well....It sure does make for a good talk with the wheel chair repair people. LOL!!!
