Well, today I was offered a job working with dogs and cats in the veterinary field ... The pay isn't the greatest, and we'd have to put Joey into daycare if I worked weekdays (which I wasn't planning on doing till he was 1 year) Also the costs of travelling there and daycare would practically outweigh the pay ... and daycare is so high for a young baby. I could potentially work weekends, so Mark could look after Joey then, but I'm reluctant ... would you?  ?

Every one is different. I guess for me and my circumstances I may have seriously considered it.

There are several aspects to look at some of witch you have already mentioned, the cost of day care, traveling expenses and also the big one... Joey being so young.

I say if you feel it will give you a healthier attitude or if its some thing that you feel you need to do, then go for it ! There are millions of mum out there working for several different reasons and not all the reasons are for money. I attempted to work when my daughter was young, I did it for me not for the money. It gave me another outlet in the world that I didn't have being a 100% stay at home mum.  =

I would do it if it made me happy. If you feel you need something outside of being a mom you should take this opportunity. What did you decide to do?  =

Not sure yet. Thinking of just doing weekends, but I'm not sure if that's going to be an option. Just have to wait and see.  =

do they offer a night shift? for a few hours a night that way mark could be with joey and you could get some time away and then on the weekends a couple hours. that way no paying for daycare  =

I wouldn't. It sounds like you will be spending more money to have a job than actually earning..... Daycare is soooo expensive not to mention the added doctor bills from a kid who gets sick all the time because other parents think it ok to send their kid to daycare with whooping cough or the flu or GOD FORBID lice.... Sounds like alot of hassle to me.  =

No Coart, no night shift, the hours they are offering is between 8am and 5pm. But yeah, that would have been fab.  =

When our 4th child came along, "we" decided that I stay at home or atleast work from home full-time. The full-time option didn't work out but my company allowed me to go part-time and work when convienent for me (after hubby gets home early afternoon). This option works fine for us. I get my time away and he really appreciates the things I have to do with the kids - since he now has to take care of 4 for atleast 3-4 hours everyday. I think having hubby taking care of kids is great. It gives them more bonding time and just plain ole time together, even if it's just one day a week. :)  =
