Trip to the E.R. I will start by saying that the head cold that I had is finally gone but now my daughter has it. She is almost over it, thankfully. Last Friday night, my husband and I got free tickets to a comedy club and invited my sister and her husband. I got my mom to keep our daughter for the night, since it was going to be late when we got home. We had a lot of fun, it was nice to get out of the house for a while. We don't get that often. Saturday morning when I woke up, I called my mom to see if my baby girl was ready to come home and my mom said for me to just wait a while because she was playing and enjoying herself. About 20 minutes later, Mom called back and said that our princess was crying so I got up and started trying to find something to wear. I don't have many things that fit anymore...either too big (maternity clothes) or too little (regular clothes). While looking for something to wear, I noticed I need to wash a load of laundry so I was putting things into the washing machine and starting feeling really light-headed and starting blacking out a little. I sat down on the toilet since the bathroom and laundry room are pretty close to each other. It didn't get any better so I decided to go into the living room and lay down. I saw my husband in the kitchen, but I was in the computer room and I knew I wouldn't make it if I kept walking so I yelled out to him. The next thing I remember is laying on the kitchen floor...I had fainted. Thankfully, he caught me before I hit the floor. I was freezing, but pouring sweat and didn't remember where I was or what had happened. It scared us. He called my mom and she came over with the blood pressure monitor and they monitored me at 15 minute intervals for about an hour and then made me call the labor and delivery unit at the hospital and they told me to come in. My blood pressure was 86/56 (normal is 120/80). My pulse was really fast too. When I got to the E.R., they did bloodwork, urine test, and kept an eye on my vital signs and gave me an I.V. of fluids, which I have 2 very nice bruises from blown veins from that. I don't know why they didn't check the babies. I didn't even get to go up to the L&D floor, I had to stay in the E.R. They said I would have to be 20 wks before they sent me to the L&D and I was only 15 wks. I felt a little better for about 3 days after that, but now I am starting to black out and get light-headed again. I have an appointment set up for tomorrow morning at 11:15am with my OB. This week has been stressful, but I am not going to get into that. Anyways, I still haven't gained any weight, but my belly is poking out more. I lost almost 15 lbs when I got pregnant, and I have only gained about 3 of those pounds back. The doctor said that he isn't worried about it. Why couldn't I lose that weight BEFORE the babies were conceived? LOL Anyways, I will add more later on. I tried to add this yesterday (or the day before...I can't remember), but it deleted my post and I didn't feel like retyping it.

Bad head cold :-(
For the past couple of days, I have been feeling a little under the weather. Yesterday, I woke up to a sore throat and this morning, I woke up to a stuffy nose and sneezing. By evening, I was constantly sneezing, coughing, and blowing my nose. I have felt so icky. I have just wanted to sleep and sleep! Now, it is late and I can't sleep!!! LOL I don't know why, because my daughter is asleep now (finally!). I just hope that in the next day or so I will be feeling better. I hate not feeling good.
By the way, I still haven't gained any weight, still under what I weighed when I got pregnant. The doctor says it is fine. I am starting to show a little bit but if you didn't know me and know I was pregnant, you wouldn't know I was showing. I notice it because I see myself everyday, I guess. Well, I think I am going to take a warm bath and go to bed. Tomorrow is my mother's birthday and I have to figure out what to do for her. Thinking about taking her out to eat at the Olive Garden, she swears she has never been there. Anyways, I will write more later. I still need to scan and add the pictures of the ultrasounds of the babies. I may do that sometime this weekend.

Update
I haven't written on here in a little while so I decided to give a little update. I had my OB appointment on Wednesday of this week and he did an ultrasound. Baby A was moving around A LOT, moving his/her arms and legs all around really fast, very active baby already! Baby B gave me a scare because there was absolutely no movement. I asked the OB if everything was okay and he said the baby was just sleeping and showed me the little beating hearts of both of the babies. It was weird seeing the babies with arms, legs, fingers, toes, everything! They have grown so much in the past month. I was on Cloud 9 the rest of the day!!!! We had an appointment with a new OB the next day because I have decided that I don't want to have the twins at the hospital where I delivered my daughter. I love the OB, but not the hospital. They just aren't prepared enough in case anything happens to the babies or they are born premature, they would have to be sent to another hospital over an hour away. I don't want to be separated from my babies. I had the appointment with the new OB and loved him, but he mentioned that even though that hospital had a Level 2 nursery and great pediatricians and nurses, that if anything happened, they would have to send the babies to a different hospital over an hour away also. UGH!!!!!! We came home and looked up one of the hospitals that has a NICU that the OB was telling us about and that is where I think I want to have the twins. It is an hour away (same distance I would have to drive to my regular OB) and the hospital is one of the top hospitals in the state and has a NICU and a lot of other great qualities. I found an OB that takes my insurance and is affiliated with the hospital and I made an appointment with him, it is for Aug. 20, 2008. That is when my next OB appointment would be anyways. We may be able to find out the sexes of the babies at that visit since I will be almost 17 wks along. I am so excited. I really hope I like this doctor, I don't think I will be able to find another one that will take me that far along with twins, since I am considered high risk. We did get to hear the heartbeats of the babies, Baby A's was 155-160 a minute and Baby B's heartbeat was too faint for us to be able to get a reading on the machine, but we did get to hear it. He/She was under or behind the other baby and that is why we weren't able to get a good reading. Well, I better get going. I have lots to do this evening. I just wanted to hop on and give a little update. I will try to scan the ultrasound pics that I have and post them a little later.
Oh...I haven't gained any weight yet. I lost 10 lbs since I have been pregnant and gained 3 lbs back as of yesterday, but the doctor said that is okay. Let's just hope I don't gain a lot with this pregnancy!!!
