ITS A GIRL!!

I was scheduled for induction on friday 20th, 2008 at 12pm. Everything went as scheduled, unfortunately labor was not happening as it was suppose to.  By 8 am I was still not dilated and my cervix was still to high up. 9 am Dr Dumbrill broke my waters and finally it happened. The pains started coming slowly at first...the breathing helped for a short while then it got intense.  The midwife suggested that I get into a hot bath..that helped for a while the I had to get back into the bed for them to check baby's heart rate. I was 1 cm dilated by 11am, I still refused to take anything for the pain.

Breathing kept me going even though it was getting so intense, the labor pains ended up piggy backing on top of one another. By 13:00 pm I was only 3 cm dilated, and the pains got worse, I then requested the pitocin which in the end put me to sleep for 2hrs and lessened the pain. After that two hours passed they came back with a vengence and I was still only 3 cm dilated. Baby haddened dropped. At this stage I was close to passing out and baby went into distress. We then decided that there was no choice but to have an emergency caesarean.

At 17:47pm, Joshyn Jade Kassan was born. Unfortunately they picked up that she had a toch of jaundice so had to go directly under the lights.  I  was released after being in hospital for four days with baby in toe. The jaundice had slowed down and dropped to 147. We were very excited as we could take baby home.
