5 weeks pregnant!! Dear Diary,
What a surprise when I found out today that I am 5 weeks pregnant (15th October day before wedding anniversary). I've been feeling tired and bloated but never thought that I was actually pregnant. You had to see the nurse face when I asked her if she was really sure that there were two blue lines on the pregnancy test.
All I remember her saying was "Congratulations Mommy!! You are expecting". I know I cried as we were trying for a while and I had a miscarriage a few months before. I was so afraid that I would loose this one as well.
Two days later I had these terrible cramps, and because I am new to all of this not knowing what was happening my husband rushed me to the hospital where the Midwife told me that I might be miscarrying. It felt like my heart fell into my stomach, we then rushed to the nearest government hospital for an emergency scan to make sure that everything was okay.
There we found out that everything was okay and for my darling husband who is a bit of a realist - he wanted to see the baby on the screen to make sure that the pregnancy was real. And low and behold we saw little one. He/she was so tiny the size of my finger nail, it was amazing. I was so happy and will be taking it easier from now on.
9 weeks pregnant!
I've been suffering from terrible morning sickness and it started since I was 7 weeks. I can't seem to keep anything in. Thankfully it only happens in the evening, but unfortunately its disturbing my sleeping patterns. I'm up at 03:00 am every morning as the cramps have gotten worse. At least now I have read WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN EXPECTING and one of Dr Miriam Stoppard's books to prepare me for what is ahead. Roshan ( my husband) got them at the library for me today.
I have worked hard at keeping the foods away from me that make me ill. So far I found that I am off chocolates, meat, oats and some other of my favorite foods.
12 weeks!
My morning sickness has passed thankfully I am back to eating meat, but my love for chocolate is gone forever. The scan was scheduled for today and so far everything is going well. My gynecologist wants me to gain at least 10-12kgs and nothing more. I've had some strange cravings, for potato fries mainly and one afternoon for pototo salad, which I ended up making in the middle of the night to have the next day. I have found that I am more prone to salads and fish. Hey at least its a healthy baby.
