Sunday, Feb 10^th,

Was a terrible day for me…it started out okay, I got to work and wasn’t feeling to well. You were moving around a lot so I knew you were doing well. I tried to function for the rest of the morning, then my vision blurred and I had to go to the doctor. Thankfully my supervisor let me go home, daddy was a little worried when I called him to pick me up and take me to the doctor. Your mommy was a big baby, had to get my finger pricked for the sugar test. The doctor thought that I might be diabetic, luckily everything is normal.  What we did find out was that I have a 24 week uterus and you are only 22 weeks. Either there are two of you in there or I am two weeks ahead. I did unfortunately pick up a viral infection from some where so its lots of rest for me, and no more 12 hour shifts.

 Monday, Feb 11^th

I managed to get some rest today, more like barred to the bed LOL. Granny called this morning to find out how we are both doing. She tends to call every third day to find out how big you are and if you are still kicking me or doing your jumping jacks and my health of course. When daddy got home we went to the gym. I’ve been so lazy of late that I became so scared, okay I am still very afraid of my heart rate going above 140 beats per hour. So I went for a swim, it was wonderful being in the water. I was a little sore lying to my tummy in the water, that’s possibly due to the infection. You daddy was so sweet he wanted to help me into the swimming pool, but I assured him that I will be okay. I really need to get use to your daddy being so worried about me. After training we walked home, its nice living 2 minutes from the gym. I finally got to sit down before bed, and you started kicking like crazy. You even kicked your daddy in the face LOL, he just laughed and said ‘that’s my girl’. He was so shocked at how strong your kicks have gotten. Daddy says you’re a girl I think you a boy … No matter what you will be we love you. We finally got to talk about names for you, Geeta if you are a girl and Vinod if you are a boy. There were some others but they have all been used already. It’s just so sad that you will be baby Kassan for six days after you are born. Leela Phoi will be doing the naming ceremony on the sixth day so daddy mentioned that we could slip those names in with the rest.

 Tuesday, Feb 12^th

I had some pain in my belly this morning, stretching pains the doctor calls them. Daddy ran out of the bathroom when he heard me moaning into the pillow, whenever it happens he wants to take me to the hospital. When the pain stops he talks to you, and asks you to be good, because I need my sleep for tonight. I’ve been having problems sleeping, you are so active and I have your daddy moving next to me as well…I’m back at work now, and you have been so quiet.

Daddy felt you kick for the first time Tuesday night, and you were so active Wednesday night when we went for supper with you dad’s Canadian relatives.  You not yet born and already you are the talk of the town. I’m back at work today after four long days off, and attempting to knit you a yellow and white bunting outfit. Daddy sent you a kiss via email this morning.  It looks as if that bunting is going to take me weeks to complete…Daddy is trying to get tickets for the “Korn” concert in March. There are going to be a few bands, daddy really wants to go. We had a big laugh as I am carrying so big, mommy is going to have to sit on the handicap stage so that I can be near the bathroom.

Dear Little one,

Yesterday mommy went to the doctor for the 21 week scan. You have gone so big already. Daddy was a little worried for this scan as it was one of the major ones. Dr Dumbrill was checking to see if everything is developing well, your brain, heart, lungs, etc. So far so good, I always say. I still can’t believe that I weigh in at 100.2kg. The doctor actually said that I made the century. Not sure what that means, probably I have finally gained weight. According to Dr Dumbrill my leg going numb on the one side is because you favour the left side of my body. It does become painful after a while if I’m standing to long. We went to pre-register for the birth. Plus I am supposed to go on a tour at the hospital to inspect the wards. Only the best for my baby. 

I laughed last night as it seems that you enjoy kicking your mother often at night when I am trying to get a decent nights rest. I say you are just like your daddy. He too can’t sleep at night, I think you two are going to be night companions LOL. At least I got to get some scanned pictures to take home. Daddy ended up going to work with them. SO I only got to take some pictures later in the evening when he got home to place on my mobile phone.

 I am back at work today, and tomorrow I’ll be set for two night shifts. At least I can sleep in late. Plus daddy wants to treat me to the movies tonight. Thankfully I do not have to run to the loo in the middle of the movie. But I was told that that is going to happen closer to the end.
