Two false alarms...guess third times the charm! 13:00 PM Thursday 29TH MAY, I was doubled over with terrible cramps (contractions) and lower back pain. I thought I'd be brave and bare with it for a while, timed the first one 2 mins then the second was 1min 49 sec... I called Dr Dumbrill who immeditately advised me to go to the labor ward to be checked out. When we got to the hospital for the ECG scan..your daddy put me in a wheel chair so I was wheeled all the way to the maternity ward..I felt really silly, but need to get over myself . Once we arrived you decided to move like a crazy person and I only ended up having two contractions that they could pick up. They were so far apart that I was told to come back when they are closer together..plus the midwife on duty did an internal exam as well...which was ouchy as my cervix has not yet opened but my mucous plug has come down.
23:00 PM Friday 30TH MAY , the pain got worse and the contractions were coming on stronger. I called the emergency number, who ended up calling my doctor...who was really annoyed as they should have told me to just go straight to the labor ward should I have more contractions. I felt so silly.. .(being a first time mom and all), that I started talking myself into not going to the hospital. But like your dad said, anything could be wrong and rather have it checked than not go through. SO we ended up going back to the maternity ward...This time I was on the ECG machine for an hour..where they picked up four contractions..but they were still far apart..closer than the last few. So it was estimated that you will be born probably Tuesday next week with the rate at which the contractions are coming on. Plus you have also run out of space..like the midwife told me last night...seeing as you are so big your movements will be move painful now as I am very small and you are really big.. MY LITTLE GIANT.

Contractions...and lots of pressure The contractions have started already...mild ones for now which I can handle. The slow and easy breathing seems to help. It was so funny we were at the video store Saturday night and you started your pushing thing again..and the cashier thought I was going to deliver in the video store. He actually told you dad to rush me to the hospital as he was not a trained medic... I ended up calling the emergency line. Spoke to a Dr Cook who laughed after I told her that I have no idea as to what was happening..also mentioned that I am a first time mom...She asked me if it was a stabbing pain down there,..and I said no it was more pressure..All I was told was to look out now for the contractions. Oh joy!
I felt like a penguin today waddling to the bank to set up my internet banking to pay the bills from home. It was so quick, not sure why I never set up the payment stuff previously. I guess it was because I was able to leave the house and speed off every where getting exercise at the same time. Now its just to difficult to even walk up the stairs without holding my stomach. The security guards at our apartment block let me use the disabled lift to my embarrassment..but who cares...I'm very pregnant right now LOL.

Journal entry Late edition - Wed, 21st Its the second night and I am unable to get a decent nights rest. I feel terrible that I keep waking your dad in the middle of the night due to my legs going numb. Your movements have slowed down a lot over the past month. I read this to be normal, and nothing to worry about. I've started a jersey (knitting again), a white one, I'm making it 6 to 12 months seeing as you are going to be so big, then again you could surprise us all and be really small. I'm really nervous now, but am also hoping that you arrive soon. My back is killing me, and you are getting really heavy. Its a real joke watching me role out of bed in the morning and in the evening especially as I have started my night time toilet routine again. The worse part is that I now have the runs...along with the water works.
Your movements have become stronger, and its really painful. Seeing as your head has engaged you are pushing down and its so painful it knocks me breathless at times. Then again it could be any time now for you to arrive.

Journal entry Late edition - Mon 19th We went to the gynae on Mon, 19th and Dr Dumbrill mentioned that you are a really big baby. I officially started my maternity leave and clever me forgot to give your daddy and the doctor the UIF forms to complete. But its not a complete train smash as I need to get the forms and documents to your granny to send off for me.
