Baby has arrived!

He's got the.....
Poops!     My poor 2 month old.. lets just say it.. has got the runs. Since late last night he has had nearly all dirty diapers. This last one took the cake... it was runny and I had to scoop up and run to make sure he didnt ooze out on his daddy's bed.  Poor kid. Daddy is on his way to get some Pedialyte. I plan on giving him that for the next 24 hours to be sure he maintains on his electrolytes. Plus, I checked his temp and he is running a slight fever.  Poor thing!  He is finally sleeping but it took him a while to settle down. His belly is just all tore up. I have to wonder if that isnt an hereditary thing.  Gary is the same way at times.

I wish I could answer people back in their own guestbook but this site isnt allowing me.  I think it was michelle who asked me about babysitting deals. Since I moved into the house, my priority is making sure the house is completed before I start babysitting anyone else's children.  Ive looked into it and a few people (who are still pregnant) are interested in taking me up on the offer. I found out MOST newborn daycare providers change in excess of $100 to $150 a week over here.. UGH!  No way I could pay for that.. It finally goes down to $75 at six months of age... and cheaper every six months until it hits $60 a week... Still, a good chunk of change in some regard.  Gary agreed that I could stay home through the rest of this year without RUSHING back to work.. so I atleast spend time with him until he is over 6 months old. I couldnt be happier about that if I tried.

Going up to Jonesboro this next weekend.  Gonna spend time with family and friends. Gary's parents came down this last weekend and ended up buying us a new washer. (they took mine when we moved.)  I cant wait to see my friends.. but I am REALLY looking forward to October.. an entire week and 4 days with friends and family.. I LOVE IT!

I hope everyone is doing well and that your babies are healthy. Wish mine was feeling better.. Oddly enough, I can rub his tummy and it actually feels good. With David, I couldnt do that..

Talon is a turd
I swear... try as I might, but Talon just WILL NOT go down for a nap during the day anymore.  If I am lucky to get him to sleep... its for a 15 mins at a time and when he realizes he is alone on the bed or couch, *I sneak away so I can get some work done* the little turd wakes up and whines.  Now just how in the hell does he know I am not there anymore???  Little turd!  He slept from 7 last night until 3 this morning, had a small 4 oz bottle, and was back to sleep within half an hour.  Little turd also is still asleep although David, being in my room, may end his sleep.  David loves to yell from my room into the dining room where I am sitting. Lo and behold.. Im gonna change all that TODAY!  A second bathroom means he can use his toothbrush and hairbrush in that room.. no execuses!
Little turd slept so good last night and he LOVES to cuddle up to me and snuggle under the blanket.  He even reached for the blanket at one point and drew it close to his face, just like I tend to do! It was awesome! He is so adorable in my bed, sleeping like a little baby.
Other than that, Im so happy to have him around. His grandparents from Jonesboro will be here tomorrow... YIPPEE! Its a five hour drive but they try and make it once a month atleast. Its actually kind of sad that my parents who are ONLY 2 to 3 hours away dont see him that often. Geeze.. the last time they saw him, Dad was helping us move and mom came with Dad to get David.. That was back in early July.  What gives? I move closer and yet, they still dont visit. and dont tell me gas prices because my inlaws are doing it!
Oh well, their loss!

2 months old

My baby is two months old today. I mean WOW~~~~~ two months!  How time has flyed! My inlaws are coming up here this weekend and in two weeks, we are heading down there.. PLUS, I get to go BACK to Jonesboro in October during David's fall break....

This last month's accomplishments include only a couple of new things.. BUT... they are big ones.

1. smiling.. that big toothless grin he gives us and me during the evening hours as we lay in bed, just looking at each other. Its so nice to see!

2. scooting... he has gotten from one side of the playmat to the other and has proceeded to try and scoot off the thing. Its cute..

3.  First non-formula item... Strawberry SnoCone. (Before anybody starts to gripe, Ill explain what happened) We came back from N.O. and the air in our car had went OUT! Completely.  We stopped at a gas station and cooled him down in Hammond but it was still so hot in the car even with the windows rolled down.  It was unbelievably hot and so was Talon... I was worried.Gary decided to stop at the local SnoCone place and shared only a few bites of the ice with him.  Not enough to even matter.. but Talon seemed to like it!  In fact, as soon as Gary stopped feeding him, I fed him a regular bottle.  I will say, he cooled down a lot quicker from that than air alone when we got in the house finally.  I told Gary, I refiused to take Talon back out in his car until he got it fix or it was cooler outside. He agreed!

His next appt is on Oct. 19 but I think I may try and change either his or David's. David has an appt on the 20th... why not both at the same time.. if I can!

Well ,thats it.. Talon is sleeping right now and I am waiting on my hubby to come home.  He was only supposed to go to the store but I think he proceeded to head to the game shop. Figures!

Talon has fever

Alas, I knew it couldnt last long but atleast its nothing too serious.  Talon had his second month checkup yesterday and received his three shots.  Yes, he ended up with a fever yesterday evening and it has carried over into today. Poor thing!  He hasnt really eaten much and doctor advised me to give him some pedialyte to keep him from dehydrating.  When he drank that, he consumed the 5 ozs I put into the bottle.  He has also wanted momma for the most part. I even gave him a bath with me and he enjoyed that more than anything.. the water was so cool to his hot body.

Also, Dr. Hubble said Talon is weighing in at 11 pounds, 4 oz and measuring at 21.5 inches long. She said he is right on target for weight but a little on the short side.  Umm. duh!  Gary and I are BOTH short. He is 5'4" and I am 5'1". I dont think there is a doubt in my mind that Talon may be a shorty.  Thats okay.

Right now the little turd is sleeping.  He has been doing so well minus the fever not his fault. I have been taking pictures left and right and its so cool being able to put pictures, actual pictures, not just digital ones, into the baby picture book.  I am so excited that he is here. Everyday is somethign new.

Talon has been cooing left and right. I love it when he sneezes and when he coughs.. they are just too cute... especially when he sighs or coos right afterwards. He gives me smiles during the evening hours most of the time. I find he loves the 7 p.m. hour for playtime or just kicking back in the bed with me with us just looking at one another. Its as if we are waiting for the other to do something and wonder what that may be.!  I know it sounds crazy.

The other day... this lady in Wal-mart came up and pulled down his shirt because it was up high.  "he looks cold," she said as she walked away! UGH!  Lady if you only knew how HOT this boy really gets and is.. u would not have done that. Oh no and I coudnt tell her crap before she walked away from me... all I coudl think of was get ur filty hands off my boy! I wanted to slap her but I was just dumbfounded. What gives people the right to tell us how to raise our own children!  ARGH!

I cant think much else to say.. Only I hope everyone and their babies are doing well.  Keep on kissing and loving on them babies.. we only have them small for so LONG!  Gotta run.. Talon is pitching a fit because Im not around!
