Baby has arrived!

Pregnancy Journal

2008-02-15  (9 weeks)
First ultrasound!
Hubby and I went for the first scan on Wednesday, February 13. It was great! They shifted my dates slightly which means that baby's due date and hubby's birthday no longer coincide. But J says that two days is nothing and that he's still convinced that he/she will be born on his birthday. We still argue about the sex cause he wants to find out and I say hell no, no fricking way!! Anyhow, I am sure i will get my way. I usually do.

It's nice to have a hubby who spoils me rotten, even if he's a moody so and so much of the time. And he's so excited about this baby. He talks to him/her every night, is always rubbing my belly, and his treatment of this baby lights up my world. I know it will be no different once he/she gets there. Hubby is hoping for a girl but will take whatever he gets of course. I am secretly hoping for the same but just want a healthy baby cause that's what really counts. I think our hope for a girl is cause it was a girl that we lost in 2006. But that's not a healthy attitude and thankfully thoughts about the baby's sex do NOT consume our lives. We just focus on how happy and blessed we are.

Yesterday was V day and even though we don't celebrate it, I got red roses from J. Every day is Valentine's day for me and I am truly blessed. So many women I know spent yesterday talking about how sweet their hubbies were cause they got chocolates, flowers or they were taken out for a meal. Sorry but who needs a Valentine's day for  that? It's not that special when every day you're treated like royalty.

Doc says that my uterus is inverted or retroverted or something. Set the wrong way. But he says it's nothing to worry about, apart from the fact that I may have painful sex. I almost asked him what sex was. That is soooooooo not going to happen for now. Hell no. Not interested. Kisses and cuddles are fine for right now thanks. Anyhow, it also made me realise that the gynae I had with the previous baby never mentioned anything of the sort. And yet both my gynae and the doc who was doing the scan both mentioned it right away. I swear my first gynae had his frigging head stuck up his arse. CLUELESS I tell thee, clueless!!!

We did get a couple scan pics but they aren't very clear. J and I are arguing over which end is the baby's head and which is her arse. :) Matters not though. (S)he's healthy and that's all we really need to know. So today I am 9 weeks and 1 day.

I still haven't thrown up and I give God thanks for that. The last time I was soooo sick and I mean right up to the birth. So I am very grateful even though I am still quite nauseous. It is slowly passing though.

Right now my main desire is to get to the 12 week mark. Of course I won't relax til the baby is home with me. Last time everything was "perfect" right up to the very end when the "freak accident" occurred. :( This time I am not sitting still til baba is home with me.

That's it for now. Oh and I will attach a pic of a 9 week foetus since I haven't yet scanned my scan pic.

More anon...
