Baby has arrived!

Pregnancy Journal

2006-08-02  (baby has arrived)
11 weeks...where has the time gone??

Well I am not even sure if anyone even looks in on my neglected journal anymore, it would not surprise me if most have abandoned it these summer days, much like I have.  Let me tell you, it has been one busy summer.  It would seem that if I am not looking after Toby, I am cleaning up after him.  Between that, and camping, I guess I haven't had much time to keep things up in here.  That being said, I guess this is most likely my sign off of this whole journal thing.  How ever much I would love to keep writing in here, I don't have the time to be editing photos to fit in the photo album, which lets be honest, is probably the only reason anyone keeps reading here anyway, and how can I blame them, he is a cutie.

Toby has really been growing.  He had his two month shots two weeks ago and weighed in at 12lbs, and 3 oz.  WHOA, i might add that he did have a wet diaper and his clothes on at the time, but he definately has grown into quite the little man.

Toby has been a really good baby.  He doesn't cry too much, only if he is hungry or if he is hurting for some reason or another.  He hates his tummy time, which is really hard as I know it is good for him.  He just doesn't like not being able to look around, and it doesn't take him long before he is crying his woes aloud.  Sometimes I relieve him of his dismay, but lately I have just been leaving him to cry and work things out on his own.  Its time he learns that he can't always have it his way.  I am pretty sure it is harder on me than it is on him.  I lay beside him and try to play with his toys and talk to him, but it doesn't usually work, hopefully he will come around.

Toby is really smiling up a storm these days, which truly warms the heart.  I love to see his little face light up.  He does let out little happy noises, but I am sure he is on the verge of a big laugh one of these days.

Toby has really enjoyed camping.  He is always very well behaved and seems to like looking around at all the sites.  He really loves going for walks in his stroller, and it has been good for me too.

One thing toby absolutely loves is going for rides in the truck.  He watches out the back window until he drifts off to sleep.  I swear that kid would sleep for hours on end if we just kept driving.

Speaking of sleeping, we have really been getting off good.  Toby has slept thorugh the night a couple of times 10:30-6:00, and most nights he gets up around 3 or 4, has a diaper change, something to eat, and is quickly back to bed.  Our night time rendezvous went from an hour long, to 20 minutes long and I am loving it.  I could use a little more sleep, it is hard still to get up in the night time, but I know we are very lucky.

I guess we couldn't be luckier.  Toby is happy and healthy.  Tim and I are planning on getting married in the Dominican Republic in April and life is pretty good all around.  Thank you for all the support, and enjoy the pics.
