Milestone

Well, I said I was done with this journal at a year old but I felt I needed to document another big milestone for my babydoll. We bought Brianna a training toilet that plays music when you actually "go" in it. She has had it for about a month and honestly I haven't been training her at all per se. I have brought it out here and there for her to sit on to get use to it and a few times had her sit on it with no diaper, but nothing. Last night before bed, she was banging on the bathroom door screaming "bath". I figured she just wanted to play with it so I said no. After a few minutes of this, I fianlly gave in and said what the hell, she's going to bed in a few anyway. So I take it out, she proceeds to pull off her pj bottoms, rip off her diaper and then sit down and pee!!!! The music started going off which signals she has gone and me and Bobby looked at each in shock! I went crazy!! I couldn't believe she actually did it. So I cleaned it up, gave her a cookie and left it there for her to play with until bed. 10 minutes later, repeat of everything that jusy happened and she went AGAIN!!! It was so awesome.... So my baby is 21 months old tomorrow and is possibly on the way to being potty trained, how great would that be? Even better since Tyler will be here in a few months and I would love to have her out of diapers before he arrives....

Brianna talks all the time now and imitates everything you do. I have been keeping a running list of words and phrases she says and she's up to over 30 words. I attribute all her learning to the awesome daycare she goes to. She learns so much there. I love it.

1 year today

Well, Brianna is one year old today!! Amazing isn't it? At this time last year, I was in the hospital, getting a third round of epidural and going through horrible back labor. It still feels like it was only yesterday. People are so right when they say you should cherish every single moment with your child because they grow up so fast.

For her first birthday, Brianna has 5 teeth. 3 bottom and 2 top. The third bottom just came in this past Monday. She is walking so good now but still would rather crawl since she can go faster. She has a real personality now and laughs to herself all the time. She loves watching her Elmo dvd and cracks up whenever he is on the screen. Not sure how much she weighs, as we don't own a scale and her 1 year appointment isn't for another few weeks.

She got some many toys and clothes so far for her birthday. We bought her the fisher-price learning home which she loves of course (pics in the album) and a big elmo doll. She looks so cute dragging him around by his arm or leg. My parents came down this past weekend for her birthday and bought her lots of clothes, a zebra that reminds me of a merry go round horse that she can jump on (loved that) and a big bouncy ball which was her fav. Bobby's mom sent her cash (always nice), a book (automatically went in her mouth), a cool growth chart (we will start it tonight) and some butterflies for her room. My Grandma bought her a couple of cute outfits (one is a skirt which is too cute). Megan bought her a baby grand piano, yes only to annoy us. She loved that one, wouldn't even let us pull it out of the box, she played it through the opening where u can test it out before you buy it. She still has more presents coming, so she is having a great first b-day so far!!

Well, I think this may be my last entry seeing as how the site is for pregnant people and all. I always said I would stop writing in here when she turned 1 but who knows? I may keep it going to remember all her milestones. Of course sooner or later I'll have a new journal when we decide to give her a little bro or sis. This really has been the best year of my life and I really don't know how I ever lived without Brianna in my life. She is so perfect and I could not ask for a better child. We'll see if that tune changes in 16 years, lol....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABYDOLL!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Time flying by

It has been awhile since I updated this, so I figured I would write an update on Brianna before she turns 1 next month. She is in daycare full time now and she absolutely loves it. The teachers tell me everyday how good she is and how good her personality is. She loves all the kids and eats so well there, which was my main concern. She even started eating the baby meats there, she had chicken the other day and turkey yesterday! Brianna also started walking while at daycare a few weeks ago. I knew she would because she is around kids who are a little older than her that can walk really well. She walked clear across the room to the toys. She has only taken a few steps at home though.

We had a really bad time last week when Brianna ended up in the hospital with a 104.9 fever. She had an ear infection in both ears for about 3 weeks and each antibiotic the doc tried did not work. She had that high fever on and off for 3 days and was throwing up as well. It was so scary for us all. But the infection finally went away, 3 rounds of antibiotic shots later. Thankfully the doc says there is no scarring or anything and her ears look perfect.

Brianna is still eating really good and we haven't found a food yet that she won't eat.  She just won't eat table food yet. I keep trying to give her those gerber puffs that dissolve in your mouth so she can practice chewing but she gags on them and that scares me so I immediately take them out of her mouth. She is a little drama queen. I am afraid to try anything else for that reason.

Last time she was weighed at the docs last week she was 22 pounds 11 ounces. We go back after her first birthday for another check up and all her shots, that should be fun.

She talks all the time in her own little language and says "mama" "dada" and a whole bunch of other sounds. She laughs to herself all the time, she cracks herself up while looking at Bo or chasing her around. Oh and the best thing, she learned how to give kisses last month. Me and Bobby constantly ask her to give us a kiss and she will come right up to us and kiss us on our lips. She even puckers up to do it!! It is so awesome. She also gives high fives now and is starting to wave back at you, although she waves backwards, it's still so cute. Only a few more weeks until she is 1, I can hardly believe it.....
