Belly pics
I just uploaded some new belly shots from this week.  Although I don't look "big"...yet, I feel it!!  My belly feels so hard and heavy!  He must have been sitting right on my bladder today because I've had the constant urge to pee!  We felt him kicking a lot last night.  At one point I had my arm on my stomach and he kicked so hard I felt it on my arm!  I've been walking more this week around the neighborhood-there are some great hills that really work the legs!  I want to remain as in shape as I can be so that I can get my abs back sooner!!  Although we are only a little over halfway there, I know Oct. will be here before we know it!  After my June 16 appt, I only have one more monthly appt and then it's every two weeks!  We really need to at least get started on the room soon!!  We are both off this weekend so maybe we will go ahead....

21 Weeks

Today is Memorial Day and Brad and I are both off of work.  I had to work Saturday so this is day 2 of my 3 day weekend, Brad has to go back tomorrow.  We hope to get some stuff done around the house.  I have slept so much these past two days!!  I didn't realize I was that tired!  The weekly pregnancy updates say he is putting on fat right now so maybe that's why I've been so tired...?  We went to Babies R Us last week and found a new bedding set!  We were torn between doing a "theme" or doing a "modern" nursery.....but when Brad saw HIS childhood favorite Dinosaurs, theme it was!  The set is called Lil Dino and it is so cute!!  He is a Graphic Artist so he is going to do a big mural to put on the wall behind the crib.  We are still unsure of a name though!!  He likes Carter for a girl....I like it for a boy's middle name....For those of you who do not know, my maiden name was "Owens" so that's where potentially naming him "Owen" came from.  In my babyzone.com name poll, Owen Carter is winning over Jackson Carter.  We still have 19 weeks though to figure it out!!  I'm fixing to take a shower, go to the store to pick up a few things and then we are laying out in the sun.  I desperately need some color on my pale legs!  It's hard to manange to get sun on my back though....I can't lay on my stomach so I have to lay sideways-awkward!  My sister in law cut the middle out of a lounge chair when she was pregnant so her belly would go through-I'm thinking I may try that on an old one today....

It's Sinking In
It is sinking in now that we are having a son and we are so excited!  He has been moving a lot (now that I know what it feels like from seeing it on the ultrasound and feeling it at the same time).  He seems to like the left side of my uterus.  That is where they have always found his heartbeat and that's where he was during the ultrasound.  He is breech right now with his head up toward my belly button and his legs going straight down but she said that did not matter at all since he will be moving around a lot and won't settle in one spot permanantly for some time.  We have also been thinking about names.  We both like Jackson, Owen and Carter so far.  We have also been looking and looking for crib bedding!  We like celestial type sets with moons and stars and I like nautical, sailboat type sets......We are sanding the floor in the nursery in a few weeks and then we are going to paint, hopefully by mid-June.....One BIG thing that happened is that one of my residents is going to watch him while I'm at work.  Her name is Ms. Pearl and she is a retired Home Health Nurse from NY who specialized in helping new moms adjust to home life with a baby!!  She has 4 sons, twin grandsons and a grandaughter here in town so she moved a little over a year ago.  She lives right on property and I will be able to go see him whenever I want to and can take breaks to nurse him!  God is so good!  Now we just have to figure out the health insurance thing!!  I trust him with that too though!  I went shopping and bought him like 6 outfits yesterday!!  I made sure to get different sizes.  On another note, I am NOT going to Orlando, I just can't fly, I'm too chicken!!  I know God would protect me, I just didn't have peace with it....I posted some pics from the ultrasound, I have to take a new belly pic this week, it has really started to grow now!!  Until next time....

20 week Ultrasound
Our 20 week ultrasound was today!!  My dad, Brad's mom, his sister and our nephew were there.  The first thing the sonographer asked us was if we wanted to know the sex and we said, "YES"!  I told her that she'd told us that she was leaning HEAVILY toward it being a girl and she immediately asked if she also told us not to bank on that and we told her yes.  At first, the baby was being very shy, keeping the legs closed and then she saw IT!!  We are having a BABY BOY!!  You could have knocked me off the exam table with a feather-Brad too!!  Brad's mom even rubbed my arm and asked me if I was okay!  We were 100% ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED we were having a girl!!  We had a nursery theme, a few names, dreams of tea parties and dance recitals and WHAM just like that it turned to sports and trucks-LOL!  We have still been in shock all afternoon!!  It would not have been so shocking if the 12 week ultrasound did not look like a "girl part"-look at the pic yourselves-it is in our Photo Album!!  There was no penis there!!  The angle must have been off because there is DEFINITELY one there now-LOL!  Moral of the story so far: Do NOT trust the 12 week ultrasound!!  LOL!He is a shy fellow and kept covering his cute little face and curling up-almost like he knew we thought he was a she!!  I felt so bad for him-I was like no, little one-we LOVE YOU!  We are NOT disappointed in the least!!  Just SHOCKED!!  We got some 3D images of him too!!  He did move a little bit for us and I was able to confirm my suspicions-he keeps kicking my cervix!!  I was also able to confirm that I am feeling him move-A LOT!!  He seemed pretty laid back today.  His heartrate was 158 bpm(dispelling the myth that girl's heartrates are faster), he weighs about 11 ounces and it was hard to determine his length but everything, all ogan systems, etc looked prefectly normal and for that we are so grateful!!  He did not want to turn the right way for her to see the heart the way she is normally able to but what she saw was great and she did not think it necessary to do another ultrasound.  My weight, blood pressure and hemoglobin were good too!  We go back June 16 at 2 for the 24 week checkup!!We have been online tonight looking for new bedding sets and thinking about names...it is a bit overwhelming but exciting in the same right!!  I want to register soon so we can start on the room.  We LOVED the pediatrician last week too and are going to hire him.  I got news today that I get to go to the National Apartment Association's Education Conference in Orlando in June!!  The President of our company is only allowing like 8 people to go so I feel SO HONORED!!  I have never flown before and am NOT looking forward to it!!  The doctor said I'll be fine as far as the pregnancy goes....as for my nerves though....all I can say is please pelase PRAY FOR ME!!  Brad and I had a pact that we'd never fly unless we were together....I'm going to read my Bible the entire 1 hour flight from Greenville-LOL!  Well, it has been quite the eventful day so me and little man are going to get some rest!!
