Baby has arrived!

2008-05-16  (30 weeks)
30 Weeks, 2 Days

So today I went to my regular monthly check up.  Its still a girl.  We seem to confirm that everytime we go to the doctor.  Its kind of nice that something hasn't decided to sprout since last month.  That might be questionable.    Anyway, nothing too exciting happend at the appointment.  I got the regular u/s done.  She was cute as usual.  She had her left hand up by her temple and was tapping her fingers as if in deep thought.  Super cute.  She measured at 3 lbs., 3 ozs. which means she is right on track.  Her spine, legs, arms and head look good.  She is a healthy little bean.  That is what we are calling her these days since she doesn't have a name yet.

I will be going back every 3 weeks now.  I just wish we could skip the appointments and just meet again at the hospital.

Monday night I had two real contractions.  I was bleeding that night and the following morning and into the afternoon.  I wasn't too concerned since the contractions never came back.  It hurt, but not like the first time when I went into full labor.  That HURT!  Tuesday I bled through a couple panty liners and had some mucus coming out...ewww I know, but its not all sweet and cute during pregnancy.  Anyway, that is as far as the excitement goes.  I will have more to report later on.  Have a good weekend.  xoxo, Laura

3D U/S

First of all, HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRINCESS NAOMI.  I cannot believe how fast time flies.  She makes us so proud!  We had a really nice dinner tonight at Olive Garden.  They sang to her and brought her a cake.  It was so sweet.  Party time on Saturday.

Before that, we went to get our 3D U/S done.  It was so awesome.  This time the baby cooperated perfectly.  She had her eyes wide open for much of the time which the technician was amused by because she had never seen a baby keep her eyes open for so long.  I thought great!- a baby that is already wide awake.  lol jk.  Anyway, it looks like she has a big lower lip which would be totally cute.  She has a cute little nose.  From all of the pictures I think she looks like Owen.  Who knows, but she is certainly a cutie pie.  I can't stop looking at the pictures.  She looks angry in a couple.  She really looks like Owen in those.  We even got one with her sticking her tongue out.  Enjoy the pictures.  I am only posting a few.  We ended up with 84 pictures.  They printed 8 colored and 2 black and white for me and I got to keep a CD with all of the pictures.  It was totally worth the wait.

27 Weeks

Well, not much to report.  I have had so many problems with my pelvic floor and legs.  I know I have complained about this before, but it is so painful.  It was severe last pregnancy too and it was amazing how as soon as I had my son, the pain went away.  It is definitely the extra weight and my bones moving.  Also, I need to invest in breast pads now because I have been leaking throughout the day for a couple days now.  Sexy right?  I feel like a cow.  Anyway, I am so excited tomorrow we get our 3D u/s and that should be fun.  I will post either tomorrow or Friday with those pictures.  Until then, have a good day.

xoxo, Laura

How your baby's growing:

This week your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?

26 Weeks, continued

I had a regular doctors appointment today.  I have gained 23 pounds.  I am not sure how I feel about that, but everyone tells me I still look small.  I don't know if they are just telling me that to make me feel good.  The baby measured at weighing 2 lbs.  I did see her on the u/s but I didn't bring pictures home.  She was being sleepy and didn't do anything too exciting.  She had moved from yesterday being sideways to breech today.  She is just testing her living space I guess.  Anyway, that is about all for now.  Have a good weekend.

xoxo, Laura

Oh yeah, our delivery date is July 15th.
