Response to guestbook I'm not sure how else to respond to guestbook entries, so I'll do it here. David had playfully suggested Sophia Maria Adia- that has actually been a sort of running joke for us. Of course I don't think that we will subject our daughter to such whims of ours. :) Also, Dean vetoed Elizabeth as a middle name. But Dean isn't alone in using his veto power. I have vetoed Kenshin, Akira and a few others.

Super Mom? This isn't really baby Adia related, but I just found out yesterday that I have been appointed to a two-year term on the Parks and Recreation Board for the City of Benbrook. Pretty cool, huh? I interviewed with members of City Council a couple of weeks ago and they had said that there were a lot of people who were interested in the different Boards and Commissions this year and said that if I don't get appointed this year to try again next year. So, I did not think that I would be selected and was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I was.
From what I understand, the Parks and Recreation Board makes recommendations on maintenance, improvement, etc. for the existing parks (including the softball fields, volleyball courts, etc. in Dutch Branch Park), future parks, Benbrook Lake and the YMCA (owned by Benbrook). I think that this is a great position for a new mommy to have. :)
Dean is really excited about this too. He wants to be there for my Oath of Office. Just imagine how lucky our baby will be if Dean is half as good at being a dad as he is at being a husband!

Starting a new wardrobe I did some shopping this weekend to get my maternity wardrobe started. I now have 3 slacks and 12 shirts in addition to the 2 pairs of jeans I already have. That should be a good start. Of course I went to Ross for the shirts and saved quite a bit of money, but now most of my shirts are red or maroon due to the lack of color options. I guess that just means I'll have to go back again sometime. :)

It must be contagious! We just recently found out that our friends John and Brandi are also having a baby (she already thinks the baby is a girl) that is due in June. This is so exciting! Not only will Baby Adia have a cousin who is three months older, s/he will also have a family friend who is two months younger. 2008 is a good year.
