Future Soccer Player? Considering that I had just felt the baby for the first time on Thursday, I told Dean it would probably be a little while before he would be able to feel the baby. That's what I had read anyway. Even so, I told him the next time I felt the baby moving when he was around, which happened to be Friday night. Dean put his head on my stomach but didn't feel anything. I kept saying, "Did you feel that?" Dean decided to try putting his hand on my stomach instead and a little while later- "WHOA!" I guess the baby gave a pretty good kick because Dean could feel it and it was the only time all night. I was really surprised that he was able to feel the baby, but also very happy that he was able to share in this with me. It didn't seem fair that I could feel the baby but he couldn't. At least we know that our baby is pretty strong!
Apparently, some of our friends think that we are going to have a boy (as does Dean). They think that we are better suited to have a boy because I'm not too girly and Dean is rambunctious. I don't think that makes much of a difference. In fact, I like to think that a little boy or a little girl would be just as lucky to have Dean and I for parents.
I am so excited to find out what we will be having, a little boy or girl. We should find out on Monday morning at the ultrasound. Until then...

Hooked on a Feeling I. Just. Felt. the Baby!!!
I'm sitting here at my desk doing month end accounting, and all of the sudden I felt what I know to be the baby. I've felt so many things and wondered, "Could that have been the baby?" This time there is no question in my mind.
So what did it feel like? Well let me tell you. Besides feeling WONDERFUL, it felt like someone lightly touching me from the inside twice in rapid succession. It was about 3 inches or so below my belly button and I have felt it a couple of times since then.
Just this morning, Dean felt my "preggie belly" and was surprised at how firm it is. I reminded him that there's a baby in there! But to be honest, it's only firmed up recently. Before that, it really did seem like I had just gained a little weight. It is so exciting to be able to feel and see these changes.
So for the record- the first time I felt Baby Adia was on November 15th at 18 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy.

Pictures! I finally figured out how to make the pictures small enough to post on this site. So you will see some pictures of me on there now. Dean and I missed out on taking pictures for the 3rd month, but we will make sure to get some for the 4th month. There wasn't that much of a difference for the 3rd month anyway.
Also, Dean and I are open to suggestions for a boys name. We are rethinking Devan right now. So far, the only names that we have both liked have been ruled out. We both liked Jack, but our friend Adam had really liked that name so we are staying away from it (plus it doesn't "mean" anything). We both liked Desmond too, but it's the name of a character from one of our favorite tv shows and I guess that's kind of weird. I guess it would be like a trekkie naming their son Kirk. Boys names are really hard to come up with for me, or maybe its that it is hard to come up with a boys name that we both like...
Anyway, let us know if you have any great names that you want to pass on and I will try to get some more pictures up soon!

Taking Requests Since we know that Baby Adia can hear now, I've decided to start playing some music to him or her while I work. So, I have my iPod and have put headphones around my slowly growing belly to play some music to our little one. So far today I have played the Cat Stevens box set, NOFX (I thought punk rock might get the baby kicking- I still haven't felt any movement) and now some Ani DiFranco.
So, I thought I might open the baby's play list up to some requests from family and friends. What do you think the baby should hear? Leave a note in the guestbook and if I have it, I'll play it!
