I've been TAGGED!

I've been tagged by Meghan to list 10 random things about myself...I know this is a pregnancy blog, but something different is always fun, right?

K, here goes:

1.  I'm obsessed with my dog, Kody...I probably love him more than some people love their children.  He's cute, he's always happy to see me, he listens to everything I have to say, and he never talks back.  What's not to love?

2.  My absolute favorite place in the entire world is St.John, U.S. Virgin Islands.  When I'm sitting on one of its gorgeous beaches, I'm at my most relaxed, stress-free state.  When I win the lottery, I'm going to pack up Dean and Kody (and Baby) and move us down there.

3.  I don't like wearing flat shoes.  I know there are a lot of cute flats out there these days, so I'm becoming more okay with them...but if I have a choice, I'd rather wear my four-inch heels any day.  I realize this may not work out so well as my belly continues to grow, but I'm going to wear them while I still can.

4.  I like cheese.  I could eat it all day.

5.  I hate being hot.  I love warm weather and being on the beach or next to the pool...that's all great.  I don't like when I'm sweaty and my clothes start sticking to me and there's no immediate way to cool off.  THAT'S when I freak out...ask Jamie, she knows.

6.  I'm really bad at throwing things away.  It's something I've been working on.  I just don't want to get rid of something if someone gave it to me or if it's not broken or...I could come up with all kinds of reasons.  I'm in the process of cleaning out our guest bedroom so we can turn it into the nursery...I'm trying really hard to get rid of stuff we don't need!

7.  I love, love, love Husker football...I'm super excited for the upcoming season!  I won't get to go to any games this year since I'll be in the last couple months of my pregnancy...our comfy couch and surround sound will have to do.

8.  Sometimes I wish I could find a job where I could sit in a room by myself and not have to talk to anyone all day.  After nearly 11 years of working with the public at our restaurant, I need a freaking break.  People often leave me speechless because they are so rude, mean, or clueless.  [sigh]

9.  I love watching Dancing with the Stars and wishing I could move like the professional dancers...they're amazing.  I'm one of the least coordinated people you will ever meet, so ballroom dancing is not in my future.

10.  I don't like swimming in lakes, rivers, or ponds...it grosses me out if the water's so murky, I can't see my feet.  Blechh.  Who knows what else is down there.

****NOTE*** Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog of ten weird, random things, facts or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose friends to be tagged, listing their names.

I'm going to tag Erika, Lindsey, and Jamie!

Cribs and bedding

Dean and I went to Nebraska Furniture Mart today to look at cribs, bedding, and rockers...we weren't planning on buying anything...just wanted to get some ideas and see what we like and don't like.

We're leaning towards dark wood for the crib...we found one we really liked...very sleek and simple.  We didn't care for any of the rockers that we saw though.  If the Mart doesn't have one, I don't know where else we're going to find one!

We also went over to Kid's Stuff and I found bedding that I really like if it's a boy.  For a girl, I have a picture in my head of what I want it to look like, but so far, I have yet to find it.  We still have plenty of time...

Still feeling pretty well...have a case of the "itchies" though!  For a while, the area around my belly button was really itchy and now the entire area from the top of my chest to the bottom of my belly itches like CRAZY!!!   I thought maybe it was a reaction to the lotion I was using, so I stopped using it for a couple days but it didn't help.  Now I'm all red and splotchy from scratching...it's like a giant mosquito bite!  I'll have to ask the doctor about it at our next appointment on Friday!

I posted pictures!

I posted those two "belly" pictures I was talking about...nothing much to show in the first one at a little over 8 weeks, but a little something at about 10 weeks!  I'm going to try and take one every week from here on out...maybe that way, I won't be so surprised with the difference.   After Dean took the second picture, he said, "Ohmigod.  You TOTALLY had to be sucking in in that first one!"

Thanks, Dean.

I finally got my butt off the couch and went out!

I haven't gone out since I found out I was pregnant...by the time I get home from work at either 8:30 or 9:30, all I want to do is SIT.

This past weekend, however, Lisa (one of my very very best friends), moved home from Chicago so we all went out on Saturday night to celebrate.  It was really great to see everybody!  I sipped on cranberry juice and lemonade and just enjoyed the company.  Dean and I stayed out until the (smoke-free) bar closed and we even went to Taco Bell for a late-night snack!  It definitely tastes better when you've been drinking...

Yesterday (Easter), we went to Ping and Lindsey's house for brunch...Ping made all kinds of yummy food!!!  Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day...it's the time of day when I don't feel sick at all, so I ate.  A LOT.  Afterwards, we came home and I took a two-hour nap!  It was a good one.   And then we headed over to Dean's parents' house for dinner...MORE good food.  I ate enough for five people yesterday...

Dean took another picture of me (my belly) yesterday.  We took one two weeks ago and I was shocked that there was a noticeable difference between the two pictures!!!   Maybe it was all the food I ate!  I'll try and get the pictures posted in the next few days...

Nothing too new to report...still the same 'ol symptoms as before.  I keep waiting for the "good" symptoms that I keep hearing about...the thick, shiny hair, radiant skin, great nails.  Instead, I feel like a greasy ball of gas.  Mmm, pretty.
