Screening (monitores) We had our appointment with the doctor yesterday evening for screening, which basically meant I was hooked up to a machine for 20 minutes to monitor Leo's heartbeat against the small (painless) contractions I am having these days. Of course, as always, he is fine and has plenty of oxygen and blood to keep him going in there for another while. The doctor also checked the amount of amniotic fluid left in there. Based on all of this, he estimated that he would be out in one week! I am over the moon to hear this (although I know it's not definite) - it's just nice to have an idea of when he will arrive.
Other than that, all is fine. Mam arrives in 6 days for a full month! It would be nice now if he came the next day - talk about perfect timing! :)
2008-10-03 (38 weeks)
Weight / Epidural etc. Finally, my weight gain has slowed down. Yippeee! Weighed myself today and I am same as I was last week. Thank god! I was told it would slow down in the last few weeks, and I was beginning to wonder when!! My feet have also gone down (they were like balloons) and I am not as swollen as before overall. Phew.
One of my antenatal group friends just had her baby, Felix. She was adamant that she wasn't going to have the epidural, but she ended up having it, and she said it was absolute bliss. I would still prefer not to have it, for the simple reason that I don't want three different needles / tubes stuck into me during the birth, but I am not completely against the idea since hearing her story and the way it all panned out. We'll see....
Looking forward to a weekend of relaxation, DIY and preparation. x

Two weeks left (I hope) I haven't written in this in a full week as I have been busy, which is good, as it keeps my mind occupied, and not focused on when baby Leo is going to arrive.
Well, Natalia's photos came out really well. She is going to be an excellent photographer I think. I am so lucky to have them, and to think SHE is thanking ME... crazy. She is going to take ones of the baby about a week after he is born too. I can't wait.
Well, tomorrow I start the two-week wait. I really hope he comes on time, or a few days early. I had strong pressure and Braxton Hicks the other night until about 3 am and thought I was going to have to wake Eric, and then they went. Boo.. ah well, I am sure he will come when is good and ready.
