Baby has arrived!

2007-10-25  (16 weeks)
Its been a good week...

Yesterday I had my 16 week appointment and it was a really good one because I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!!  It was such a wonderful thing to hear, I can't think of anything better.  The doctor said it sounded good, about 160 BPM.  All else is good, no weight gain, my blood pressure is down and all the blood test results came back fine.  I am due back in three weeks for the quad testing, which the doctor didn't want to do yet (too many false positive tests at 16 weeks she said), but couldn't wait four weeks until my 20 week appointment.   She said that we will schedule another ultrasound at that appointment, but as long as things progress well I will not have another one before the baby is born.   A bummer to hear, but I am hoping that there are no complications so I can live with it!  The doctor also told me that my due date now is April 11th, so I have to adjust by one day, but that is OK too.  I have a lot going on at work in March so the later in April the baby is due the better!

It has been a good week this week, I am really glad that my hubby is home.  Its hard to be on my own, but I'd better get ready again because deer hunting starts next week.  After he gets back from that he is all geared up to gut the kitchen and start the remodeling project.  He is still telling me he will be done by Christmas, so we will see...  We bought some really nice stainless steel appliances and now we have to finish picking out the cabinets so we can get those ordered.  This is the fun part, I think the hard part is yet to come.  I will keep you all updated!!

Big weekend coming up!  We are going out for my mom's birthday on Friday night (Happy Birthday Mom! )  and Saturday night is the big Rascal Flatts concert!  I think my baby is going to be a music lover like me, I have been to a few of concerts since he/she has been in my belly and I have two more coming up in the next couple of weeks.   Annie and Kurt are coming from LaCrosse and Tim and Shannon are going too so Kathy and I will probably meet them for dinner before the concert.  I can't wait to find out where our fan club seats are, hopefully the are good!  Last time when they came to the State Fair we were in the 2nd row!  I am super excited if you couldn't tell!!!

15 weeks!

I think that the 15th week may be the magical week that my fatigue disappeared!  I have felt really good this week, work has calmed down a bit so I am sure my blood pressure is down.   I have actually been able to stay up until 10 p.m. without being so exhausted.  I am taking that as a good sign.

This weekend Clint is off to ND again to go hunting and I am on my own.  My best friend Kathy's, sister Beth is getting married tomorrow so I am excited to go to her wedding, even without my hubby.  I am going with my mom and dad so I will be in good company!  Cross our fingers, the weather report says that we may actually see the sun tomorrow.  Quite a feat since we have had rain 16 out of the 19 days in October so far.  The weather is so depressing, just one nice day to bring us back to normal would be nice!

Next week is my 16 week doctor's appt, I suspect that my doctor will tell me that I need to get my flu shot soon.  Never had one before and I hate shots so this should be interesting...

The end of my first trimester!!

Hi all ~ well I have reached my first big turning point in my pregnancy.  My first trimester is behind me now and I can look forward to all kinds of things for the second trimester.  First up, getting my hair done!  My doctor said that it probably wouldn't harm the baby to get highlights, but said I should wait until my first tri was done if I could.  So my appointment is tomorrow.  Yay!   But seriously, the thing I am so looking forward to is feeling the baby move around.  I know that its happening and I can't wait for the day when he/she is big enough that I can actually feel it!!  According to the experts the baby is  3 1/2 inches long and weighs 1 1/2 ounces.  Its still hard to tell on my plus size figure, but my belly definitely feels larger. Maybe its just wishful thinking!

I have been feeling great, things have been good the past couple of weeks.  I even may be getting over the tiredness (as long as I get my 8-9 hours of sleep a night ).

Clint came home on Tuesday from his first big hunting trip of the season.  He really enojyed himself and is looking forward to next weekend when he goes to North Dakota again!  I am looking forward to an evening of scrapbooking tomorrow with my mom, Jodi and Sue.  Its something I love to do and don't make the time to do enough.  I have a feeling that is going to be even more true once the baby is here...
