Almost halfway there! Good morning everyone! Its a good day so far...had a restful night, got up early, did Pilates, had a healthy breakfast and watched the latest news.
I came across an ABC report about BPA in baby bottles and some hard plastic sports bottles. It looks like its a good idea to stay away from using bottles containing BPA (the research is still not %100 conclusive, but there are indications that its not good for fetuses, infants and children...it could affect their development). They said that you could tell which bottles might contain BPA by looking at the triangular recycling sign on the bottom of the bottles and, if there is a 7 in the middle of it, it might contain BPA. It looks like the real problem comes when you heat the bottles, but I'm still going to stay away from using our Nalgene sports bottles and I will look for baby bottles w/out BPA once Baby is born.
Joe is doing the "Hollywood To The Docks" Labor Unions march for three days. It started yesterday and will end tomorrow. He's being proactive, fighting for labor union rights (he's a member of the Screen Actors Guild) and better jobs here in CA. The march itself is 28 miles long over the three days. It started at the La Brea tar pits in Hollywood and will end at the Long Beach Docks tomorrow night. I'm going to pick him up there even though there are supposed to be 5,000 people showing up for the closing and I have no idea where I'll find parking! Yikes! Oh, well...it'll be good to see Joe after his long walk and being apart for three days. I'm really proud of him.
I can feel my tummy stretching and making room for Baby especially the last couple days. She/He is also moving more these days. Its like having a constant companion! Pretty cool beans. We'll be exactly half way through the pregnancy tomorrow...19wks done...19wks to go!
I'm going to go to Ross and Target and see if I can find some more maternity clothes to wear. I only got a couple outfits last time and I'm starting to feel like I have to do laundry so often or I don't have anything to wear, heehee. So, Joe said, we need to get you some more clothes!
K, I'll definitely post a report on the ultrasound on Monday if not sooner. Keep the fingers and toes crossed that the little one is in a good position to see if it is a boy or a girl for this next ultrasound!

Ultrasound Results Hey Peeps! The ultrasound appointment went well today. It was actually a training session for nurses that we volunteered to do. Everyone was super nice and explained what we were seeing. It is the first day of the 19th week today according to our calculations and the baby's measurements were right in line with that. The spine looks good, there was a good amount of amniotic fluid (which means that the baby is swallowing and urinating well. We saw the head, legs, arms, and the little heart beating at a good 160bpm! The baby also moved quite a bit during the time we were there...almost an hour! We could not see the sex of the baby this time due to the position of the baby and the umbilical cord (which we could see pulsing!), but Joe and I have a stronger feeling that it might be a girl after seeing the ultrasound pictures today. We'll have another chance to find out on the 21st of this month (10 days) at the UCLA hospital. They'll do more detailed diagnoses at that time. But it sure was great seeing the little one today!
We got three pictures which should be up in a few minutes on this blog so you can all check out the baby's growth!

Ultrasound Tomorrow Hello everyone! I was just looking at some of the other journals online here and thought that it was cool how some women were writing theirs in different colors and sizes! So, I wanted to try one!
Our ultrasound appointment was changed slightly. It will be a little earlier tomorrow than was initially planned. We go in at 12:30pm. Its so close now!
Joe has been helping out with running the soundboard for an Unusual Suspects theater production over the last few days. He's been great. He'll write with me early on in the day, then he'll go help out with the production, and he's always so happy to come back home...last night he wanted to surprise me and brought dinner back with him and two DVDs, but I also wanted to have something ready for him to eat when he got back so I made dinner too...he was so cute...he said, "I should have called." ...I said that he wanted it to be a surprise and if he had called it wouldn't have been a surprise...I am just very happy that he is so thoughtful and caring. He also reads to me at night. I usually fall asleep after a while. He asks "are you asleep?' and if I answer then he keeps going, but if I don't he'll know its time to stop. Usually when he stops I wake up again and say "I'm tired." and go back to sleep (and dream of swimming cheese puffs or some other nonsense).
I worked out doing Pilates again yesterday but rested today because I was sore. My muscles need to remember what working out is!
I felt a lot of little movings in my tummy yesterday and can't wait to get more pictures of the little one tomorrow. We'll post them as soon as we can!
Lots of love,
Anya

Prenatal Pilates, Yoga, and Dreams So, at the last appointment the midwife asked me if I was still running or doing Pilates like I used to before I got pregnant. I had to admit that I find even walking challenging since I've been pregnant. She said that if I can, I should try to keep up some regular exercise. Its good for me and the baby. Since then friends have also told me that exercise like prenatal yoga (Elliot) is very good and helps with labor at the end. So, I decided to try to do either my prenatal Pilates or Yoga at least a few times a week plus a few 30min walks with Joe.
Yesterday, Monday, I did the Pilates DVD and walked with Joe. Today I did the Yoga DVD. They are not as intense as my older exercise routines, but they have great stretches and some strengtheners. I felt better than I expected. I think that cold we got really wiped me out over the last couple weeks, but that's getting better now. Anyway, hopefully getting a little stronger.
Also, lots of intense dreams lately. All kinds of actor nightmares mixed with baby stuff, family and friends mixed in with the story Joe and I are writing. I dreamed about a school of underwater cheesepuffs a couple of nights ago and in another dream I was chopping up peppers to feed to a bunch of grapes! Wierd huh? Don't ask me why
